Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
Using an inherited engine I've come up with the intention of further developments for this tool. This is a simple FPS creation tool. Hopefully this will introduce you to the basics of 3D game development.
This tool creates an easy 3D game designing environment for both novice & experts, although this tool does not require programming knowledge a creative piece can be an outcome as a result.
Compiled game sample: http://shoutsomething.com/Example.zip
Main features:
Quote:
- Full drag & drop editor

Okay, time for this time waster to be released.
Check back very soon for further developments.
Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
Very cool , u got skills !
Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
That's looking very good! What is the programming language and is this DirectX or OpenGL?
Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
It's written in Delphi with a bit of help from DirectX's resources! In further developments, I may hook up OpenGL for smooth graphics.
Thanks Daevius.
Edit: I forgot to mention Blitz3D for the 3D engine.

Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
good job, now all you need to add is a server files so people can paste the files there and people connect :D

Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
Impressing indeed among all the hello-worlds here!
Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
it works pretty well except I'm having trouble seeing the objects. In the preview I just see boxes and they don't do anything, and when I open the file (example.exe) it just shows me getting attacked and I don't see any of the guns, ammo, or enemies I placed. I tried changing the z index but it still doesn't show :/ I clicked the red arrow for what I guess is troubleshooting, and it says there are no problems with the settings. When i first tested it I saw the car and all that but after I editted it the car went away and none of the graphics worked after that :S
This engine reminds me of the flash app at challengeyou.com haha
All-and-all, Very good work! It's nice to see something creative around here for a change

Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
I greatly appreciate all the positive feedback! Thanks!
Tutorials will be published very soon. At the moment I'm on the phase of developing the 3D rendering tool & hopefully this will benefit to model file conversion.
If you like, you may try the beta version of 'Tablia' the 3D rendering tool. Download it here: http://shoutsomething.com/tb01.zip

Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
What would make this godly is if you can make it online for other people to join your game. I will use this later on when I finish my project I already had started (MMORPG).
A re-upload would be nice. :].
Re: Simple FPS creation tool (Beta)
Very cool.
What version of Delphi compiler do you use?
Also check out GLScene if you want to remake it in OpenGL, very cool OpenGL component set for Delphi.
