PW 136 Server files for use with MySql

Greetings Guy's n Gals,

here are the fixed up server files I used for my release which now includes a working iweb and the 136 update which fixed maps such as crescent vally as well as including tekks elements.data for solving the pickaxe problem..

so credits for this release go to the following..

Tekk - elements.data
shawn - dbo and authd development for mysql usage
xypher - map fixes
nevermind - follow up fixes
trash - registration script

Notes on using..
The server files are preconfigured to run on an IP of 192.168.0.50 on a true linux install, example, these files are NOT using a colinux or vmware emulator, you can however build these into the said emulators if you wish though.

Whats included
importantly, all 32bit Library files needed to run this release (you may need to get 64bit varients on x64 installs) a registration script so you can register users (duh) a dbo.sql file for importing into mysql, 2 java versions (1.5 for iweb and 1.6 for authd) a .profile file for /root/ (edit and resave to cure the eof error) a working partial and full start script as well as a working shutdown script and an edited **IWEB** http://192.168.0.50:8080/iweb/ :thumbup:

Files to edit..
/etc/hosts - put in your own hostname
/root/.profile - gets an end of file error, to fix it just edit and resave it

Whats NOT included
Lampp - download and install in /opt/ using these instructions.. http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html

I already have packaged my server files ^^ but i have a slow connection for upload them :\
So.. i have used the Eistiger server files on his Debian guide...
I just need to upload the autdh folder now xD and elements and gshop .data...

But i will do this the next week... because i must do something on my server before and.. i will get a small new notebook ^^ .... with Vista x.X

So... when my future notebook will be formated with a correct OS xD and when my server will be fully done, i will upload the authd folder and the others things =)

i have downloaded the files yeti the rar folder only has 4 files in it
pwserver.conf ; pwserver.ext3 ; swap1.bat and a txt file that i cannot read as it is in russian i think

am i missing files??

um, you haven't downloaded my files mate, these are for a raw linux install, there is no pwserver.conf ; pwserver.ext3 ; swap1.bat and a txt file, i think you have maybe downloaded these ones..

iweb doesnt work...

i start server with: ./start.sh

in ./start_minimal.sh tomcat doesnt start

I've tested it on 3 comps using ubuntu 8.04 server x86 and 8.10 server x86 and it worked fine on 3 attempts :mellow: dunno how it didn't work with you :?:

im also runing ubuntu server 8.04

After installing Lampp u dont have to copy some files into it?
(only the registration folder to htdocs)
no ip`s have to changed?

the authd file has to be modded if you changed the version in /usr/java, simply type..

nope, once you install lampp, all you have to do is configure it then copy the reg files to htdocs as well as import the dbo.sql into mysql..

Hi I managed to get the server (full) running and running well the other day but after I shut it down via the GM console I can't get it back up.

I saw some permission errors in there, did you set everything u uploaded to 0777?

Okay after I change the permission file to 777 it seems that the segmentation fault still there.

hmmm,... LOL !!! Not only the start.sh...
You may do chmod -R 777 on the following folders:
gacd, authd, gamed, gamedb, and others in /home; /usr/java folder ; /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9 folder.
After this, i think the Segmentation Fault error will not come back again...

I've already checked as much as I could for the java folder and authd files. I'm pretty stumped in what I can try other than reupload all the java, jarkata and then server files themselves again.

After running the server without problem now when i try to login inside the game I got this error

"LINK - Error in server and network "

On ssh it show something like this

TRACE : gdelivery::passwdtimeout. user=asd
TRACE : gdelivery::matrixpasswd cache missing, user=asd

some other thread says about its about codepage for mysql coloation i did use utf8-general-ci.. anyway its like the server didnt communicate with the sql at all.. anyone help me ^^

I have fixed the server (go me! :thumbup:) however it does not seem to load up properly (but I noticed no errors) for some really wierd reason. I noticed something was odd when I checked the memory usage which was really tiny. I can log in and create a character but not enter the game:

Dear beastie or Romulan, or anyone who can putting the server on and it running..

Please, can you make a little guide? I have ubuntu 8.10 server configurated, but i don't know how to install the server of PW. Only need a little guide with the commands, no need to be very long.

Guide:
1. Upload all files
2. Set EVERYTHING you uploaded to 0775 w/ set group owner and permissions recursively checked.
3. Install lampp and configure mysql: change root password, then connect to your mysql, use either mysql query browser or navicat, I personally prefer navicat, lite is free on their site, dont forget that root is set up as root@localhost so you will need to make another account with its host set to your ip, then make a database called dbo, then if you are using navicat right click it and click execute batch file, and select the dbo.sql that came with these files, run that and exit.
4. Upload the register folder to /opt/lampp/htdocs/
5. Change all "192.168.0.50" to your linux's internal ip
use this to find it:

There are 192.168.0.50's in most folders, go through absolutely everything that u have uploaded that can be opened with a text editor.

I start linux and .profile says not found end of file, edit and resave don't work.

For import dbo.sql, follow the next steps:

1. Write in the console : /opt/lampp/lampp start
2. Open a browser and put your Local IP
3. Now in the left pannel click in PhpMyAdmin
4. Create a new database called dbo
5. Enter in the database dbo and click in tab Import
6. Look for the file and click continue
7. If all are correct, phpmyadmin says all correct.

PD You maybe need to change password for root in mysql, you need to change this password too in /opt/lampp/htdocs/register/config.php and status.php

Go to your pma interface:
http://your-pwserver-ip/phpmyadmin/

At the top of the page, go to database tab.

Create new database with the name "dbo".

Go to import tab.

Select your dbo.sql file and then click execute.

Close your window and go open again:
http://your-pwserver-ip/phpmyadmin/

Go to permissions tab. And click on the little link "add new user".
User = root
Host = your-pwserver-ip (example: 192.168.0.55)
Password = same password in your table.xml
Check the last radio button
Click on the blue link "check all"
Execute.

Specify this user for dbo database.
"Check all"
Execute.

Now, it's done for pwserver can acces to the dbo.
(note: you will need to do the same thing if you want BatGM can acces to dbo too, but in the host field you will need to put YOUR ip and not the server ip)

It's that all for mysql and the database now.

Probably an issue with gauth can't connect to the mysql server and can't get the password and login from the dbo...

You may check: hosts (for ip), table.xml (for dbserver (mysql), login and password, look what i have wrote for the problem of milhub... your answer is there), check authd file again for any problem with java path.....

i have another problem, i can not login using pw client, which i played with pwi/pwe official servers.--patched to 1.4.0 now i think. where do i get 1.3.6 client to play with this? or do i just need to do anything else to login. i modified the server.list file and is able to pick my newly created server from the server list logon-screen but after enter username password, it goes into 40sec count and time out, i just can not login. i can ping the pwserver from any other computer within the same 192.168.0 network so networking is not a problem here.
it looks like my request never get to the pwserver at all because i did not get a wrong password/username error. it just time out connectiong to server. the strange thing is i can share files browse the server freely using network sharing folder.

i tried a fresh install of pw client 1.3.1 same result. timeout on login.

any help would be much appreciated.

Check this:
1. What do the console say ? (server side)
2. Do you have correctly added your pwserver IP in serverlist.txt ? (client side)
Example, (tab) = you must type a tab not spacebar.. :

hi guys, I didnt relise so many of you are having problems with this as the install of it is so straight forward :huh: the main problem seems to be some are changing IPs and are missing out a few here and there, others are adding thier own java versions (there is 2 already preconfigured to run for this release, if you want to alter versions remember to alter both the authd and .profile files accordingly or you will have problems, also (this being my fault) set the permissions to the folders recursively (most are 777 but not in \etc\ which iirc is 755 (DONT DO the whole of /etc/ as you may kill your linux install :scared:) the files were compiled to be drag n dropped into a fresh linux (ubuntu preferred) install using an app like WinSCP and tidied up (doing recursive permissions etc..) using an app like Putty.. if you chose a version like redhat (fedora) or suse you have to do things that distro requires..

Tried a fresh install again on a fresh linux system using Fedora 9 too and still having the problems. It couldn't be any more fresher. I really wish I remembered how I got my PW server working before the db corruption. :?:

I'm getting the authd problem with the 'done' token error again. It seems that that lib-something.so file has major issues? This is why I hate Linux and Linux programs. It's so easy to break and so difficult and awkward to set up.

I want to get SSL working for iweb... I have installed both of the two certificates in my browser but the error still when i want to try to open some features of iweb... (cricket (for logs), ...).
I think it's an error from the server and not from the browser. Probably a bad configuration of tomcat.. but i don't want to do a fresh install of tomcat now.

What need modifier more ? Have followed all the steps. It is the eighth server that I try to do.

If you use VI / VIM you can easily reformat the files in Unix and remove the "^M" characters. I hear dos2linux helps too.

Can i use this on coLinux? By replacing the old one which is using MSSQL?

Fixed. I downloaded the java (jdk) 1.6.0.13, installed it to /root/, changed all the usr/java/* references to root/jdk1.6.0_13 :D: I then replaced the gshop.data file with the original and it loaded up all fine. Does anyone have a gshop editor or guide to edit it without corrupting it and making it work?

Does anyone know how to edit the client (using 1.3.1 since 1.3.6 just won't work) to stop the animation of the mobs from decreasing the farther away they are and add a space after the colon before the text in the chat? (like "Test: Hi all!!!" instead of "Test:Hi all!!!")

Well, I install new UbuntuServer in VirtualBox and put all files, but....
"-bash: /root/.profile: line 24: erro de sintaxe: fim de arquivo inesperado"
I use "nano .profile" for edit, re-edit, check, etc... saved and reboot linux, but error persist. :<:
and what files have to change with CHMOD command ? 775 or 777 ?
Obs.: I already tried the other version made and works well with "Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie". But I don't like VMware.

Probably an issue with gauth can't connect to the mysql server and can't get the password and login from the dbo...

You may check: hosts (for ip), table.xml (for dbserver (mysql), login and password, look what i have wrote for the problem of milhub... your answer is there), check authd file again for any problem with java path.....

Yes, it might be due to hosts or table.xml, but i think there is others which maybe i miss out... maybe the java path, cos since i already tried upload a new version of the java... could be the authd... but path was correct cos i just overwrite the old folder ... ... ... .. any other suggestion...
