Wrong section and a double post. A friendly warning - infractions are in your future if you keep up like that. Use the Edit button and if you don't know where to post something use the main section.
The database is mssql only and won't run on mysql. This is why people like using vmware so much, they can use a windows server and put centos in the virtual machine.
If you have already bought a centos dedi then you are going to have to use vmware in centos to make a windows virtual machine with the database in it. We don't have any guides for doing it this way around unfortunately but setting vmware up can't be much different (unless you have command line linux only). If you don't have a windows CD and key you can use you will have to find a hacked one though.
owh my god, different price actually. Linux more cheaper than windows. So how now. What i need to do.
you need to buy windows hosting.
Yeah, use vmware.
You can install vmware into the centos machine and use a virtual windows but it will be harder as there are fewer guides. All i can find with goole is ubuntu guides (which use different commands) or vmware player :/
See if you can at least get vmware installed and then maybe post some screenies of what it's panels look like and i might be able to help further. The only linux vmware experience i have is ESX3 which is a totally different beast to vmware.
other iniative is. I will make some edititing to cabal server which is using mysql as a database, Chumpy r u sure that mysql will not intterupt with cabal server. I worry if cabal server cannot run with mysql.
MySQL is a bit different to mssql and you can't convert cabal to run on mysql, it has been tried and so has postgresql. You can probably convert the db easily enough but the server won't talk to it as mysql query language is slightly different in places and queries will fail.
If you have a great knowledge it programming then create your own cabal or a friendly advice just buy a server with windows hosting with MSSQL. Dont waste your time it findings ways of converting the database to MYSQL your wasting your time.
cabal is for mssql.
