Also sounds to me like your getting the barrel confused with the magazine, because removing the barrel of any weapon system requires you to dismantle the whole thing. And even then, a magazine (yes, even an m240/9 mag) would not last 10 mins with constant use. NO marine would ever get a barrel confused with a magazine.

Lastly, they are in fact told to say, "Die mother fucker die" because when firing a machine gun without a bi pods the barrel raises up at a fast rate. Using short bursts keeps the barrel down, and increases accuracy.
