Palette Error While Creating Characters

I've done a bit of troubleshooting already, as well as searched numerous forums for the answer. Here's what I've got so far.

I followed the tutorial provided here on Ragezone for setting up an eAthena server. Had a few issues but the server seems to be working fine now. I followed the same tutorial for the client setup, and it works fine so far. I've only run into one issue that I can't seem to solve.

When I create a character, if I use the "Hair Color" button too many times it crashes out with a palette error. I think I know the problem, but I'm not sure how to solve it.

As everyone knows the palette numbers go from 0 to whatever your max is. The problem is the client isn't detecting where the max actually is, and so it doesn't matter if you put in 40 palettes (per skin), the second you click that "Hair Color" the 41st time it will crash looking for "Blah Blah Blah 41.pal"

I actually tried copying the same file 70 times, renumbering it up to 80, and the thing still crashed looking for "BlahBlah_81.pal"

Does anyone know how to solve this? The only information I can find is regarding the Vanity TAB files, but I've left them default...

So shouldn't it only allow me to select up to palette #25?

I've even gone one step further and installed Amber Dragon's Palette's which takes my palette number to 40 for everything.

A second problem that's crept up is the fact that my skills (even the skill window) isn't translated. Everything else in the game is, just not anything relating to skills.

I can see the skillnametable.txt file in my Data folder, and it's got everything in there in plain english, any ideas?

Ok, I fixed the "Skills" problem, at least with their descriptions... For some reason I had to make a copy of the skilldesctable.txt file and rename it to skilldesctable2.txt

That solved the SKILLS not showing up in English. I'm still having the palette error, my origional issue. Can someone PLEASE help me resolve it, I'm so close to having a working client that it almost isn't funny.

Seriously? Nobody has ever run into the Character Creation pallete problem before?

Are your files compressed into a .grf file?

I went with a standard Ragnarok & Sakray installation, then did the DATA folder installation (fixed a few things there), and then added the XRay file & data folder.

On my dedicated server I've done the exact same thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Like I said, try not to use a data folder. GRF compression works the best.
