Cygnus Browser

I introduce you to our new web-browser. The name of the browser is Cygnus. You can find our links under our network which is Flownyx. Our main page is http://flownyx.us.to. You can find all of our links there. Our browser is still in the alpha process which is getting near our beta release. If you are interested in testing out our Cygnus browser then join our forum. Our forum is still new so just kind of wait until the people start to kick in.

I am not really sure if it said it in there somewhere, but what is your language you are coding it? And the image is just a small ass bitmap

Just for you, I put the whole link down.And this time its full size. Also this browser was coded in Visual Basic 2008.

great job. a little feedback though. it seems to bland imo. are you going to add integretions into it, like add-ons? I think if you are going to, you should make some default that way it has more to offer then the already existing browsers.

I will try to put some add-ons in but at the moment I am focusing on the main browser units.

Is it just a WebBrowser control with buttons to control it? If so, you'll most likely be told to gtfo by any real dev.

Is this based on Internet Explorer's web browser if so you might as well use IE itself.

The GUI looks like IE7.

very well... well all the best on this one. how do you plan on advertising it once it's done? also, do you expect it to get as big as FF or IE? If you do, I would suggest to get people help you because obviously the "pros" will find some form of a bug somewhere and the backload for it would get too high for you to handle alone.

The interface is just like an Internet Explorer or maybe the concept is from IE itself....

If I were to make it as big as FF or E wouldn't I be the next internet sensation? Just imagine, a 13 year old owning some 20-30 year old coders.

Yea the interface is just like IE becuase it started from IE7Clone. I am making it so it doesn't turn out that way. And yes .us.to is from afraid.org

Woa There SpazzBoi Stfu srsly. I'm not a hater, I just gave my honest opinion. As in there is no point in creating a IE Browser whent here is already a better one made already. Btw I could code this in C# easily aswell as VB Except I don't have VB just C++ and C# and I made one before and I realized it was POINTLESS.

not that great everybody can create a browser with vb...
there are tons of tutorials about it create it in C++ or C#.

yeah it is pointless because everybody use firefox or ie and if someone create a browser it's based on ie enige :|

The first thing I made in VB (one of the only things) was a web browser. I just saw that icon for dragging the webBrowser onto the stage and I did it.

After that, I just read the tutorial on the microsoft website to get it working right and such.. I think almost everyone who works with VB has made a browser of some sort..

It was pretty much just like yours, and it even used the IE crap that VB automatically puts there for ya.

I would suggest finding a FireFox clone or something by Netscape rather then microsoft.. I really think that would get you on the right track.

Also, be VERY considerant of W3C standards. Notice how IE doesn't follow the standards, by using an IE clone browser object, you're copying the crap and non-standard-compliant code that goes with it..

:*: Sorry to burst your bubble, but we get AAALLLOOOOOTT of people making VB/IE Web Browsers in this section.. It's actually kind of irritating.

Don't get pissed at me for posting, I'm trying to be part of the sollution here. - "Sollution being- Get those damn IE clones off this forum!"

So get a Safari, Google Chrome, or FireFox clone from somewhere, copy & paste some code and learn something from it. Just don't use the default web browser object & drag + drop crap methods to make a web browser.. Been done millions of times.. You are not going to be the "next big thing" by using the default preferences and most popular tutorials. I appologize in advance :wink:
