Router Guide - Internet Server

Okay. Here it is:

1. Download eAthena.
2. Extract it to some folder and go to CONF folder.

If you want that you eAthena server works all the files must be on one computer or in same subnetwork.

First of all: you must configure your router to forward your WAN IP and ports: 6900, 6121 and 5121.

After it you must set in char_athena.conf and map_athena.conf files the WAN IP. You can use default ports. If you want change you ports change ports in you router too.

Now go to www.whatismyip.com look you WAN IP and edit the following configs.

Now we need to set you LAN IP in other configs.

Strat up the command line and type "ipconfig". You will see you LAN IP and SUBNETMASK.

Now open this files and change the ip there to you LAN IP!!!

ladmin_athena.conf
lan_support.conf - change all IP's that you see there to you LAN IP and SUBNETMASK you will find in command line.


That's all. Now change the ip in "sclientinfo.xml" to you WAN IP and give it to people in the internet.

It drives me nuts..

this afternon i changed the files.. then i tried to conenct and i can choose an char but after that it failes connect to server.
i went crazy bbecause i think i did it correct.

but i went out to eat when i came back i tried it again and this time i can play on the lan no problems at all.

now the weird part. i went out to my girl and now im back i cant connect again. :S anyone know a solution or whta i did wrong :S


this are my files:

my server ip is 10.0.0.175
and my computer ip is 10.0.0.1

MMMMM thats strange i only can connect to it if nobody else is in the server :S:S

Do you have any firewall or mby AntiVir with firewall ? My Norton AV 2005 block the servers.

And look at the file description.

HERE YOU MUST PUT YOU "LAN IP" AND NOT YOU WAN IP. ALSO THIS SHOULD BE YOU COMPUTER IP. LOOK AT THE FILE DESCRIPTIONS.
OVERALL WHERE YOU FIND "LAN IP" PUT YOU LAN IP (COMPUTER IP) IN. AND IF YOU WILL FIND "IP" PUT YOU "WAN IP".

Try this out and write if you get any troubles =)

i only can connect when nobody else is in the server.. if there is sombody else then i cant connect

wtf... try to reinstall the package and try to do it again ...

Erm can i ask where do i find my router and change the port?

I have used your Router Guide - Internet Server :)
But only the server computer can connect to the server :(

What do I have to do to fix this problem
Server WAN IP = 234.32.211.34
LAN IP = 10.0.0.1

PC need to connect to 10.0.0.1
It connects to the game I can select the Char
But the next step He tries to connect to the map server.
I the PC gets the messages 'FAILED to connect to the server"

are these ports tcp or udp?

may i noe how to find the "WAN IP" ... ? plz any1 tell me thx

what the f*ck is the ipconfig ur talking about.. command line? what the hell is a command line? explain a little better please

WhatIsMyIP.com go there for your wan ip.

The most important part in this guide is quite short :lol:

Hey i'm getting a problem running map-server and i tried to run it with command prompt
and it said "map configuration file not found at : conf/map_athena.conf" where as the file IS there.How do solve this problem ???

Are you sure, all version of eAthena have this file on that folder, check it again.
