Re: 2 PC Configuration
You can easily do this.
Just follow any of the video guides in the tutorials section ( I recommend the video by FIX ).
http://forum.ragezone.com/f460/video...by-fix-524857/
And just install SQL Server from another machine.
This is the way that you would run your servers online i.e 1) server running CentOS as main OS, 2) running SQL Server ( Login Server ) on another machine with windows installed.
Hope this helps you!

Re: 2 PC Configuration
But make a pc ONLY WITH CENTOS and the other one with windows and mssql dont install on a windows computer vmware adn then centos and on another mssql.....

Re: 2 PC Configuration
If you have 2 computers i would not suggest vmware either as it will just introduce lag. Have 1 pc with centos installed instead of vmware and the other with windows and mssql. This is how i run my server and it will always be better than using vmware.

Re: 2 PC Configuration
yah..i tried to do so...
but CentOS dont want to install NdisWrapper...also i cant install the W-Lan-Adapter on CentOS...
i have the Linux-Driver for this W-Lan stick...but it wont install it...
when i type in ifconfig i dont see my W-Lan stick...
when i type in iwconfig the messege " no wireless extantion"..comes...
when i type in lsusb i can see my W-Lan stick...Also in Hardware-Browser(But not in Network-section..in System-devices)....
but i cant install the driver on HDD...
i searched the Web more than a week..but i cant find a good guide to install this Stick...
its a LevelOne WNC0305USB with rtl8187 chipset...
i have the Tar.gz -driver....Maybe it will work with a RPM ???
if i could install this W-Lan stick i would Install CentOS without VmWare....

Re: 2 PC Configuration
A tar.gz sounds like code that has to be compiled. Can you post it (or a link) so i can take a look?
-
2 Attachment(s)
Oh..im sry...i was wrong with the Driver...it is Zip...
but NdisWrapper is Tar.. :D
i also upload this....
hope you can find something...
thx for your help...
P.S...tar.gz-datas cant be uploaded..so i zipped it...in this zip you will find the Tar.Gz
Edit : Here i will give you a Link to show you, that my W-Lan Stick is Useable for Linux-systems
http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Network_Adapters_(Wireless)
Well
i installed Suse Linux on my PC to see,if ndiswrapper will work on it...
and yes...it woks...
i also could install my W-Lan Stick...and i was able to surf the Web....
Maybe there is a Problem from CentOS-side,that i cant install ndiswrapper on it...???
Maybe i need more And different Packages when i install CentOS ???
I tried to install CentOS with Full-options...but i get an Error at 75% of install...
Im very sad, i cant realize my dream, having an own Cabel-server online... :*:

Re: 2 PC Configuration
Both need to be compiled but it does list Fedora 4 support and as that is red hat based it should work with Centos as well. I will need to set up a test machine to try building them on as i don't want to affect any of my test stuff.
Do you use centos 4 or centos 5? I'll clear one of my VMs off and test it.
