Re4 for the PS2
I went to the nintendo forums a couple of days ago when I saw a thread in the Resident Evil section. It talked about how the dev. team of Re4 quit after the game was finished because the Capcom managment never told them that it would go on the PS2. This means RE4 will still be made (maybe) for the PS2, but it will NOT be the same thing Here's the thing:
"First off, the breaking of exclusivity in this case was not because of user demand, but a plan to boost the stock price, as some already understood, but it seems like there has been confrontation between the developers and the management who are following shareholders' instructions. Capcom nowadays is different to when Okamoto worked there, the development team's voice seems weaker than before. It also looks like a lot of skilled staff will leave the company after the GC version of 4 is finished. But the people behind this rebellion are the developers, and they ask that you don't blame Mikami or Kobayashi. The GC version of 4 is the last one that Mikami will be involved in, the PS2 version will be passed on to someone else. People who used to work at Capcom are also shocked by this news."

so the ps2 version won't be as good as the GC version?
-
nope, like it said, the DEV team for the RE4 protested and quit. Yeah, Capcom thought they were gonna get moe stocks by investing it to the PS2 but OOPS, they NEVER told the DEV team and the DEV team wanted it for GCN only...so now it's under somebody else. The DEV leader is Mikami and he says "the PS2 can't handle RE4" sad day for playstation fans who wanted the "good" version now.
It's possible the "new" RE4 for the PS2 MAY be better, but you can't do anything better than what Mikami's DEv team has done

Well, since RE4 has already been finished on the GC, all capcom needs to do is port it over to the ps2.
Porting a game over to a different console is a lot easier then developing a game from scratch
After re configuring it to suit the ps2 capcom can then add in extras for the ps2 version
My guess is that the ps2 version will be as good as or better then the gc version so there isn't really a need to worry. the only difference is that the ps2 version will load slower and the graphix won't be as good.

well easier said then done...since the dev team quit they also took all of the knowledge of the programming with them.
