Clans (Error 58)

Hello all, im working and "trying" to make my clans working, to be honest this is the first time im touching this files, i tryed with Shagpub files and cant get it to work, tryed also files from galera online and i got some success with that, things that work are:
in Web, everything, ranks, acc manager, etc etc.
My main problem is the infamous Error 58, i know is something in the configuration, but i just cant find where is, should be something that i just cant see or should be something under my noise but i just cant find it, if any have the knowlegde to help me with it, pm me plz, this is so frustrating. Making the server and changing things in game isnt that hard but about clans, god damnit, is really hard for me, i just cant understand it. maybe i put the db user where should be the clan user or clan user where should be the db user, i dont know if really matter to put the lan ip or 127.0.0.1 to get it working, cuz im using only 127.0.0.1 or (NameOfMyPc\SQLEXPRESS), have one user for the ClanDB and one user for the Sql daba it self, and one user for the MultiManager.... ok, thx if u can help me about it.

OK well lets not just jump to conclusions here. So we obviously know that there is some problem with your database connecting to your clans. hmmmm Soy? Perhaps you didnt setup data source in admin tools correctly? Lemme look on forum and i will try to help. SOMEONE asked me to help you last night so i will do just that ^^.

I think your problem comes from IIS.
Check Operz Clan Guide how to configure IIS right.
I would perfer you to use YOURNAME\SQLEXPRESS ^^

1: Make sure you have changed, and successfully installed the .reg file to the registry.

---Keep watch on the LogDirectory that you have created.
---If you are using your IP address for server hosts, consider using named pipes. SQL 2005 Express has limited to no support for TCP/IP protocols.
---Make sure your User and Password have access to that database. You can see Operz Guide on how set up DB stuff correctly.

2: If your BillingErrorLog file returns errors like, DBNETLIB instance not found, or access denied, consider revising your…

A. Host Named Pipes, Alias’s and/or IP
B. Proper Admittance to the Database under that user, with all the necessary Grants (See Operz Guide for grants)
C. Possibly reinstall .Net Framework 2.0
D. If you are using SQL 2000, download this… Download details: SQL Server 2000 Security Tools

3: Revise your Clan files, especially ClanInsert.aspx, and common.inc or settings.inc.

4: Try different IP solutions in your Hotuk.
---If you are using a port other than 80, try making it so that your clan server is using port 80. I had a plethora of Error 57’s while trying to use another port aside from the default.
---Try using, internal, external, and possibly even no-ip solutions for your ip in the hotuk

5: Error’s 57 and 58.

***Error 57 = Unknown Connection. Host not found.
A. This error happens when your IP is set incorrectly in HotUk or ports are blocked. Attempt using different IP.

***Error 58 = Host found but invalid connection. Could not gain access or control!
---This is a common Error. It can be caused for many reasons. If you receive these errors try phase 2.
A. Check your database logins. They could prevent you from logging in.
B. Check for DB errors. Check BillingError.
C. A connection Problem within your clan files.
D. Syntax, or other code problem within your Clan Files.

Yeah, you guys, I've tried quite possibly everything to get rid of error 58, and it just loves me. I think it's a deeper simple problem that is right infront of my face, I just don't see it yet.

But if you're getting error 58, obviously a connection issue. Check your configuration done, also check to see if you get code=100 when you type in: localhost\clan\clanInsert.aspx

This just shows that there is a connection being made through IIS (I believe) and this is as far as I gotten.

Another issue is possibly you need different .dlls or ClanDb.

ya, that was one of the first things i tryed, code=100 is what i have.. tryed both, i guess there should be something wrong in the sql.dll and clan.dll, or sql.reg.dll i changed them like it should be (well i guess)
in clan changed only (clan user access and psw)
in sql.dll changed (db user and psw)
-i havent touch the source (namepc\sqlexpress) cuz the %s should work well..... no work for me
-tryed changing in manually the %s cor the sql instance, nothing as well
-in the sql.reg.dll i used where it says ip : NAMEPC\SQLEXPRESS
where says id: daba base user id
where says psw: daba base psw

and there is one clan ip (i set there 127.0.0.1)
the other clan id and psw i set the clan user (setted in the data base for ClanDB)

Lol, it's quite true. there is nothing left for me to do. I could care less what error I get, I'm just tired of seeing error 58.

Question: Do i need to enable the ODBC in order to have clans working??, cuz i thought wasnt necessary if we are working with Clan.dll and Sql.dll

Hello All:

I get the same Error 58 like soyedu.
I review all on this page..and i Try all.. But i still getting same error.. but i beliveve i am missing something....
Because i can see on my ClanDB the game are insert some data...

On my billing Error i got:

190142|SELECT IDX FROM UL WHERE userid='admin' AND ChName='dekvender' Timeout expired

190146|INSERT INTO CT (userid, ChName, IP, ServerName, SNo) values('admin','dekvender','127.0.0.1','PTFlash','41')

How you see... The Query INSERT INTO CT ..... are on Clan.dll and it INSERT data to ClanDB so i believe i can log in database and i can write them....

The Another Error Select IDX FROM UL..... that query are too on my Clan.dll
and that get Time expired..

If supouse i setup all like i read on the guide i get in one query Time Out expired and in the another query the data inserta without problem...

Well I check on my "SQL Server profile" what happened and if i am making the Query Right and when the query do
SELECT IDX FROM UL ..... on SQL i got
ERROR MESSAGE ------Changed database context to 'ClanDB'.
I try to capture mi packets to see if i can found more information but i Couldnt... I use wireshark and Ethereal. But nothing.....

Someone Have same problem as me and how or where to start to check???
-Maybe ports?
-Maybe netframework (that is important to be version2 becaouse i have version3)
-Maybe my Files are wrong? (I am using shagpub sandurr 2.0)
-Maybe hotuk.ini
I really dont know.. All look like the guides i have read but nothing work.. HO i change like Soyedu said. SqloleDB.1 and SQLOLEDB only and it donst work, i got the same error...

I see in another Topic [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
But i not get that... the DBNETLIB is something i have to install...

Try posting a couple ethereal captures or make a zip with some ethereal screenies.

Edit: Also remember it helps if you hex edit your clan.dll with your instance. Try different variations SQLNAME/Instance name. IP/INSTANCE name. You've really got to pay attention to that stuff. I've been out of the scene for a while, but I remember spending alot of time on this.
