Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
Saw this on Engadget and found it hilarious. Silly religion.

Leave it to religious nut jobs to make absurd statements. Good job.
Can't we take these people out back and put the shotgun to them already? lol.

Re: Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
Oh man.
Leave it to the Roman Catholics to make up something stupid like this.
They give Christianity a (really) bad name.

Re: Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
The Internet is no longer holy.

Re: Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
well, im not religious but i do somewhat agree with this. online friendships nowadays are based more on popularity than not. i mean, look at all of the applications for facebook and myspace. you get higher/better in the game if you have more friends, rather than how long you've had those friends.

Re: Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
I do wonder, will they create a list of e-sins?

With that logic, you are not considering them friends, meaning they are not friendships. They are more like "followers."

I do agree, although... I've never really been into myspace or facebook. Made a myspace account way back when it first came about but I haven't bothered with it since.
But most things on the internet today are purely based on popularity and quantity of your 'friends', rather than who the actual people are, and what they mean to you.

Hey, I've got the shotgun if you'll get them over here.
I find it really hard to believe texting and social network sites will cause me to go suicidal. I mean who would say something like that? I'm not suicidal! Why do they think that? Where's my razor....

Not you maybe, but others it might. Don't forget an internet relationship (be it romantic or other) is much easier to break off than a real life one. Call me old fashioned, but I don't believe a purely online relationship will ever be as close and intimate as a real-life one. Sometimes a hug does more than an hour of IM'ing, a well placed kiss more than all the winks and kudo's you can send, a simple high-five more than a comment left behind on a tweet.
I am not saying internet relationships are doomed or can never work (hell, I met my current girlfriend online), but it's wrong to limit your social interactions to purely virtual ones.

Re: Stop texting or you'll kill yourself.
I'll point out that internet (if abused) will kill your social life AND destroy your social skillz, but if you look at it from another point of view, anything call kill you if abused.

well agreed a real life relation is far far better than a relation on internet but don't forget sometimes u do find people here on internet whom you consider your best pals too...so according to me it depends on how you trust people on internet and how u take your net friendship into real life!
