Nineteen Eighty-Four, anyone?
I was looking for that last night when they posted the American stuff.
Thanks for posting it.
And yes, if that happens Big Brother will always be watching...
I don't get it why people always complain about this big brother is watching thing. Sure it's a catchy phrase, but who of you has such an interesting life anyone would give a flying rat's ass for watching?
When they install equipment for a specific purpose, it will be used only for that. It's not to spy on common citizens but to help problem families. It's not like they're on public tv.
I'm not sure the money is well spent on a project like this, though.
only in the uk
It has nothing to do with weather or not everyone is watching, it has to do with someONE watching. The fact that someone is seeing you eat, drink, sleep, watch TV... imagine having no walls at your house, but instead huge windows without curtains. How would you feel?
terrible fucking idea.
don't volunteer. is this supposedly a trial? once they've got the budget sorted, they've got no reason to exclude the rest; apprently they're robots.
Says the guy from america, the country with the most retarded laws and decisions.
This is a stupid idea, and they will be forcing it upon 20,000 more families, whats the point in spending all that money?
These fucks need to learn that theres nothing they can do to stop children being involved in gangs, because no matter what they do, they still dont give a shit, and will get involved anyway.
Yeah, cutting off walls would be the same, as in only one person ever walks by our homes, right?
It's not about someONE seeing you live your life, it's someTHING. You will never know who is doing the job, and it hardly matters anyway because for sure what they see will be confidential, and on a personal level they couldn't care much less.
Sure, I'd be bothered to be on surveillance 24h, but then again it's not installed for spying but for protection of yourself and your family.
it's similarly as bad as being stalked, to-be-honest.

and, it's a surveillance, wouldn't there be reports of analysis thereafter? i guess it's a good thing to put an obligation to the families, despite the relation of freedom is voided, which is a question of whether it is/isn't worth the cost.

of course it is for the betterment and to pursue motivation to the family towards success, but can't they think of other alternative method? which, possily, would cost more.
Well it just must be me who wouldn't want someone watching me having sex in my living room if nobody else is at home. Or being watched while beating off and then having a security guard checking on me once a day. Hrm, i guess i can't walk naked through my house anymore when no-one else is at home.
What about people under 18? You saying that they now have to cover-up themselves even when home alone? Or do you think they can streak through the house and frame the person watching the camera for pedophilia? No, new laws will have to be implanted to either a) exempt the person watching the cameras from the laws against child porn/pedophilia, or b) they will have to put house arrest laws over those who live in the house to stop them from being naked in their own home. Not so sure about you, but i don't like either.
I do not like being told what to do and what not to do in my own house, let alone being watched.
aye this is digusting and of course paid for by our tax, I am writing to my mp about this
