Developing a FlyFF OPENsource
Well, I can't code C++ very well myself, but I think the only way to develop good files at this point is a community effort. The flyff community is small, we don't have that many people to call on to work on a source. All of the open sourced projects close, which is why our development has been halted. If we had kept working on a project, say DragonFlyFF, we would have much better files than anyone has now.
I propose we start a project that is 100% community, no owner, no founder, no head. If we ever want to develop flyff files we should work on it together. If we open a SVN with OSA or Runeflyff, we can gather coders and at least start working, even if it's slow at first.
Like I said, there will be no owner or founder. I'm not sure that I want to start this unless there are people in the community that are willing to code an open source project.
Post your opinion on the matter.
Developing a FlyFF OPENsource
There still have to be one who accept the code updates and test the server, because some code doesnt work and some do. Too many developers makes it a big mess. But I dont really think opening this project will make people come and help, people just hang out here and waiting for server to be released, nothing more...
If you had prior experience in coding, C++ is still hard but who said in the first place you need to use that? Theres lots of languages capable of doing a private server, not all will be perfect but it after its made, updates will perfect it.
If you really want community to help, a .NET language is the most simple in that case.

Everyone working on dFlyFF is not a big deal, me for example, Im coding to get experience and learn, I wouldnt work on another language because I want to improve my C++ skills right now.
Also this wont work, I tryied something similar before posting my updates and asked people to post their update, long time passed and almost no code. Like funkynicco said, most people just want to get binaryies and run(not even set up db and everything :P).
But lets see if this time the community help, I spent good amount of time on new rhisis code and wont leave(Akitasha kills me if I do anyways :O).

Meh, I was just wondering if you guys thought it was a good idea. I've been looking at the WoW community and they have a lot of great open source projects being constantly updated. I guess it wouldn't really work without a bigger community :\

That wouldn't work because:
1. Not everyone can code
2. 98% of Ragezone are leechers
Re: Developing a FlyFF OPENsource
To be honest. Even if people contributed code, a community project without an owner is doomed to fail. Everyones project is noones project.

When I came back earlier this year, after my 4-5 month hiatus from Flyff, I was hoping the community was further along but it was just a deadzone (I believe then Adi released osA) at the time, even now Rune's files are relatively complete atleast what I can understand from the source, duotone has given you guys a very good head start for developing an updated open source server, it's rather functional, don't know how it is performance or stability wise, never tried it.
Re: Developing a FlyFF OPENsource
I think a v13 proyect would work and there IS a v13 (not fake) Neuz without game guard (no antihack system). The bad thing its that it works with another password security. Its legal since its from Aeonsoft.

It wasn't a lost of time ^^ You and Glaphan, inspired me to start to learn coding, i was learning c++ when i saw first release of osa from adidishen ^^
And now i'm very happy to know and learn to code on C# (perhaps C++ later)
But i'm agree with the other 90% of the people will just wait and see...
I don't know for Wow but i received more pm to ask me to be a developer in our team since we are closed source than when we were open source...
I don't understand well why, (unless they just want the source) cause we asked to people to help us, and everyone could be developers when we were open source....
Even beginners...
So you see, i'm not sure that an open source project with no owner will work...
