Can connect to my server yet others can't

Okay i've looked around the forum and havn't really found any solutions

with my server if i change the server hotuk.ini to 127.0.0.1 and change my client files to that ip i can connect and everything is peachy. (Im connecting to server from the computer as its on)

Problem is when i use my external ip address(Obtained from whatsmyip.com) i can't connect neither can anyone else. What i do is replace all 127.0.0.1 with my external ip address. I run the server and other people still can not connect even if they changed their idata ptregx and registry file to my external ip.

I've opened the port 10009 which is what my server.exe and client use and still no luck. I have a static ip so my ip is not changing. I have disabled all fire walls.

any ideas?

have in your firewall on your modem or router put off , or the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) put your IP Address. and try again

Which server files you use ? (try UltimatePT files)

Which OS you use ?

Be sure you made all 100% right

Also , there are Game.exes that connect ONLY to the IP that hexed inside them .(No matter what putted in ldata/reg file )

You need a game.exe that connect to an IP that configured in the regfile/ldata. and then it send to your friends .

I think your problem is that you use a game.exe that hexed with 127.0.0.1 ^^

i'm using Fusion repack and bloodpt.exe i'm not using a game.exe thats hexed with 127.0.0.1 because i changed all the ips to my lan which is 192.168.1.104 and i was able to get into my server.

i'm using windows Vista my client and server ports match (10009)

I havn't done anything with the DMZ as i don't know too much about that but i'll look into it.

Thanks so much this was the problem. I put my ip in the DMZ and it worked instantly.

BloodPT.exe = hexed with 127.0.0.1

Your lan IP and 127.0.0.1 are act like the same if you put them in the server hotuk .

I am not sure about the bloodpt.exe , I think I hexed it with 127.0.0.1 and I forgot about it.

okay... I wanted to put another person as GM in my server so i input his IP into my server hotuk.ini and now when ever i log on everyone gets disconnected as soon as they get into the game. I removed his IP and still i'm getting dc'd any ideas?

also i see that in blackuser my account is being added into the blackuser folder. I delete it and i get in but then i get DC and then its the same thing. Anyone thats logging in is getting banned into blackuser.

Also now when i go into MY account my game crashes about 3 seconds in.
If i go on someone elses account its fine

Thanks Tazz07, I've not seen a hardware router to refer to it as DMZ, though I know the big corporate ones have this. I've only seen it in Gateway server software. But things are changing all the time, and it's a nice idea.

Would you mind sharing with us how you resolved the BlackUser issue mischief?

Of course, I figured the problem was something with the fact that it was as soon as i gave my friends the hotuk.ini to place in their folder that the problems started. I then checked the blackuser to see if we were getting banned and we were. So i figured the server thought they were getting into the game using the admin hotuk and they werent in the server hotuk.ini listed as admin.

However i was still getting banned and i WAS in the server hotuk.ini under admin with ip and all. So i checked the login logs to see that it said i was logging in from 192.168.1.1. i had listed myself as a GM using my external ip address. So i just added the 192.168.1.1 along with the Gm Ip's.

After that i wasnt getting DCED however my game.exe would start crashing 3 seconds after i got into the game. i made the blackuser file a nameless extension and deleted all my characters and i believe that did it.

took me a good 3 hours to figure all this out but now that's out of the way my server is working perfect.

now just to figure out how to add monster and items not just edit the current one's stats.
