Looks like Sandurr is alive and well, he is going to repair the bugs that UPT has gathered over time...just an FYI

I know he had taken on other projects... I'm sure developing just one project gets tiring. I presume he wanted some time to do something different for a bit.

i hope he will leave UPT because its annoying that money do everything.

Isn't easy run huge pserver like that, many times you need to do website code or hexa editions or something like and it's almost impossible to do if you still trying handle relationship with your communitie. Research and development demands special care that you can't have if you still talking to communitie ( trust me, I know what I am talking about ).:wink:

@kadion: I know what you mean, and it's one reason I'm kinda keen not to get involved too deeply with any particular server, but just to help people in general.

No offence, but I don't think anyone could do all the things Sandurr does *and* maintain a great community like RZ the way Mental does.

I also believe Sandurr is U.S.? I've heard him quote prices of things in $ so... Anyway Dan (Mental) is definitely Welsh. Though I guess he isn't a true hardened Northern Welsh man... where Men are Men, Women do as they are told (unless they are your Mother) and sheep know their place... usually on the road tormenting the traffic with their higher than International Human Rights legal status. :wink:

Ahh well if he is Dutch, I doubt the local authorities there would give him any grief.

I'm not sure what he or any of us do is illegal because of the way PT was leaked, and the licenses that applied to it at that time... however, that legal status, and it's implementation varies around the world... there has been a successful legal battle against a Chinese private server recently, for example.

Almost universally, if sign-up is not open to the public (by invitation only) or if no payment, either for access to the server (monthly fees or such) or for unique items is asked then there is no argument for commercial compromise. "Donations" should be a true, unrewarded donation to a charitable cause.

Sadly, most private servers don't seem to make ends meet under those conditions. But that would pretty much ensure that no case could be brought to bare IMHO.

Sandurr is a very busy soul... any prescience here would take too much out of his busy schedule, I'm no where near as productive or knowledgeable as he, and despite my efforts to make contacts on my terms I am still bombarded with requests and pulled in a hundred directions.

I suspect he does contribute posts under various aliases but as each account becomes suspect he would have to move on to another.

If he could post the odd brain dump without people bombarding him with questions, I suspect he would. But I'm not sure if that's possible.

Either way... slagging him off for a lack of presence is not going to endear him to our community. So chill guys yea?
