just start a fire and smoke it out.
Hmm, actually I was thinking of that, but I don't know. It's too weird lol.
I might just wait until it gets weaker or something.

I had it in an old house I lived in about 2 years ago, it was rented so the estate agents had to get someone in to remove the front of the fireplace to get the bird out.
Do you live with your parents? If so contact them asap, dont be trying to poke through at the bird and certainley dont turn ont he fire, not only is it barbaric but it will cost a whole lot more to clean up when you have dead bird rotting behind your fireplace.

Why dont u try the broom thing but from up the house
and then ask someone (or your dog) to stay @ the bottom of the fireplace so when u stick the broom on the hole your dog can eat it or knock him out.
