I am literally out of ideas. My servers have been receiving on and off attacks of over 1gb/s. I have no idea who is attacking them or how to stop them. I've been searching for hours and hours for protection fruitlessly. The best thing I found was a DDoS Mitigation box for $8000. It is fucking ridiculous that I have to block an attack that is so brainless and I have to pay so much money to do so.
If anyone has any ideas, feel free to post them, even though I've probably heard most of them.

Best would prolly be chanret but it requires a windows OS and costs some money. (The site is unknown language, but the program is in english)
mod_evasive is used by apache it is pretty decent its own way.

I'm starting to think that no one can have the server up and running successfully other than Fame. I doubt fame is doing it. Highly doubtful. I don't want to point fingers.
What I do think is that its a fame fanatic. one of those radicals that can't let anyone else have the glory because their server they play on is king and no one else can have it.
I've seen fame have over 2k users at a time (pure spec but you get the idea.) Monster has at one time about 250. Its a small place to hang. Reasonable rates and hardly NO CS in the shops.
So whats the big effen deal?
