Ever since i got my new computer running (windows xp sp 3) i can't play flyff
...well i can, but not without it going:
-gets in game
-plays for 2 minutes
-crash-
-blue screen of death
-reset
it annoys the crap outta me and i really want to know what the heck should i do. I have never seen anybody else with this problem before.
It shouldn't be a overheating problem because it wouldn't crash like that, would it?
Anyway, what do you guys think i should do.
Thanks in advance.
reformat
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
Okay, being the biggest noob ever, reformat the drive?
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
install again ur windows or ur prefer OS
sometimes blue screen of death is just for error on the oss.. try to give details about the BSOD message..
if still continue try:
1.- install a diff windows
2.- read the message error
3.- maybe it can be hardware problem

Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
Ugh /headdesk I don't wanna end up restarting windows again, I just transfered all of my crap onto this computer. So restarting it might take me a whole day :p
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
^^ is not that big deal ^^
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
ill try reformatting first ._.
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
reinstall windows onto the computer... If that does not fix the problem try another version of windows... i would say windows 7 because ME or Vista would need be close to a solution.
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
But like, here's the thing.
The computer I'm using right now I've used in the past. I've used the same harddrive as well.
Same with the video card, and RAM.
I just don't understand why it just goes up and crashes like that. It's very odd.
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
yes... but its sounds like there must be a virus or some kind of spyware... or maybe even some of the window files are corrupt in some way making your windows unable to process flyff correctly... reformatting may fix the problem
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
1. Scan the machine for spyware.
2. Update the video software and if needed the hardware (although not needed if played on it before)
3. Do NOT reformat. That is just stupid.
4. DEFRAG the damn harddrive and make sure everything is patched where you need it.
If you do all of those things and still the error persists, then I would reformat and clean install it. Then install FlyFF. Other than that I don't know what else to tell you.
Surprised no one thought of the video card update. and you call yourselves hackers. *scoff*

uhm read error msg, scan your computer, Update your drivers, uhm fix your registry, Call Microsoft and say there bunch of #@!#@!# uhm or use google xD
Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
Hi did you install any new hardware before it started giving the BSOD?
Also what would be handy is the spec of your pc?
But like the guys have said you only need to reformate if all els fails so try defrag and scan your harddrive in safemood if poss.
I think avast can scan in safe mode!
Could be a virus and if it is then i am sure avast will find it.
Well i wish you good luck.

Re: Weirdest thing ever O_o
I would suggest updating your antivirus and scanning for malware first. Then, check for updates to the graphics card. After this, I would use a program like ccleaner to remove any extra crap and fix errors in the registry. Then, I would defrag the hard drive.
Then, I would try testing your graphics card by using a graphics intensive test (I think Nvidia has one for free on their site), if it crashes while this is running, your problem is the video card.
If that doesn't crash the computer, download memtest and scan the RAM using that. You'll probably have to put it on a CD or floppy and boot your computer into that to run the test.
If none of the above has solve the problem, try removing all peripherals except for the keyboard and mouse and try it. I once had a USB wireless adapter that would make XP crash for no apparent reason.
If absolutely none of this stuff has worked, I backup all your data and then reformat the hard drive.
Good luck! :D
