Are these all logs = hacks ?
Hello,
I checked all the logs of my server for the past 5 days, and I wonder if these logs = real hacks (when i say real hack , i dont mean like "Hacking Alert" , because this log all ppls have and its false alert) :
Damage Packet Error
Server To Server Moving Item Error
Warning MacroMouse
Client EXP Error
Character State Error
Server Inventory [Money] Error
Item Mixing Error
Client Energy Bar Error
Server Inventory [Money] Error ( 2 )
Server and Client Exp Error
Continuous Save Failed Error
Client Warning [Skill Forgery - 2]
Too many packets
Client Attack/Defence Error
What logs from this list = real hacks ?
Re: Are these all logs = hacks ?
Some of those I know... "Continuous Save Failed Error" for example, happens when a client DCs, and can happen when client and server item, or exp tables are not identical.
Warnings about packets, broken, too many etc often relate to players with poor latency, too many hops and generally bad internet connections. Client Attack/Defence Error happens with "custom" weapons and armour that just have a higher attack or defence rating than the server considers safe... and remember the server considers anything over Ice to be "custom", likewise "client energy bar" happens when you pot to fast, or wear custom rings, Valento Rings, Kelvesu Amulet etc. (all of which are newer than the server, and exceed it's tolerances)
I have seen "Warning MacroMouse" when you achieve "skill bug", which allows you to bypass the cool down on skills by timing your clicks just right... an automouse or macro can achieve this perfectly every time... but I have a friend who can do it by had as well, I've watched her at the controls doing it.
Basically each should be suspected of being hacks, but there are other explanations for most.
Some I have NEVER seen, and would consider more dubious:-
Server To Server Moving Item Error
Server Inventory [Money] Error ( 2 )
Server Inventory [Money] Error
Client Warning [Skill Forgery - 2]
As you may know, my servers are usually hosted on LANs or via VPN for a select few users I really really trust not to attempt to hack on them... others who have more experience of less trustworthy user base may be able to tell you more... if they are willing.
