Clan system error

ok so recently i've been making a server for my friend,
there is just a few things to do,
one of them being clans,
i setup the database etc. in my sql like it says in the read me,
i've portforwarded the ports i need to, (8080,80,1007)
done the registry, edited the dll, but when i still login game and try create and account,
'Erroror occured (58)'

please help,
i'd much appreciate it,

error 58 is connection problem check if the port is opened and if u configured the sql.dll
if that not work go to sik troubleshooting clan guide

@josh: i done all the ports and sql it's just the iis i don't know about.

1. you have to use only netframework 2.0, it won't work with others.
2. make sure you configure your IIS as needed.
3. open port 80
4. do not forget to put in the hotuk the commands for clan system
5. make sure you create the databases in SQL Server as needed
6. disable your firewall

ok now i got error 57 :s

sorry for double post but it went back to error 58 all on its own :S

configure your ODBC

make sure you put

ClanDb -> use SQL auth, <sa> and <pass>

and also add

SoDDb -> use SQL auth <sa> and <pass>

and also

Sod2Db -> same

configure also your SQL.dll -> dont use localhost, use 127.0.0.1

i did that and for some reason now i can't login to my sql server :S

I have that all the time with the ODBC configuration applet on modern (1.5Ghz+) CPUs... just don't use it... hack the registry manually I say.

Error 58 means that your Clan Script files are wrong, maybe reinstalling or reconfiguring your MSSQL 2005> ClanDB Script can help, I've had this error before and that is how I fixed it. Also I can help you via msn if you want Jakey ;)

hmm i think i fount my problem which is the iis system, it's blocking everything, my obdc, vertigoserv and sql server any advise? o.o

Gahg! You won't like it. Re-install Windows, unless you can log in to SQL with another account, delete SA, and recreate it.

Theoretically, uninstalling SQL and re-installing it should work... but it's uninstall is buggy, and leaves behind the problem which causes this to happen... so, a restore point, system wide backup, or restore from the install monitor you run may do the trick... if you have any of those.

Thanks for the bad news... well, it's good to see you "don't shoot the messenger" :wink:

You're not the only one to get bit by this. Not the first and won't be the last.

You'll note that my Personal PT Setup, and Automated PT database install don't require you to do anything with the ODBC connection applet... this is because 9 times out of 10, when I try that way MS SQL locks me out of even my admin account. :(:

It seems to be that the ODBC connection applet connects several times in quick succession, which MS SQL thinks looks like an attack, and therefore locks the account out to secure the database. Nice, but you just locked out the root administrator. If you have an alternate admin account in SQL before you attempt, you can at least unlock SA before trying again... but I just circumvent the chance of the error by importing a registry like this:-

Replace [MYSQLSERVER] with your servers name... what ever it says in System Properties. And... obviously, change the "LastUser" if you have a different Admin user to "Administrator" on your system.

you can add another SQL login name,

oh, i forgot you cant login at SQL,
well you can Reinstall your MS SQL,

also, be sure you are using MS SQL 2005,
sometimes DediServers, use SQL 2008,

@xiangho: i made another user but i forgot the id also i reinstalled the sql server since then,

also i'm using the sql server in mike's (sik)'s thread
thank you both for your constant help in this topic it's much appreciated.
Also to conclude i'm still waiting for my friend to logon msn to contact the host provider lols
