Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
Hey guys i have just bought a new opteron dedicated server on Windows Server 2008 Web edition 64x
I have some problems, first of all i'd like to state that i had my server for 2 weeks on my home pc which runs on windows XP with no literaly no problems with the difference of SQL 2000
and since i have failed trying to install SQL 2000 on Windows Server 2008 i tried to use SQL 2005 with MD5 using the MMT Production official season II files
1st.
i have copy/paste 'd the WZ_MD5 something. dll into the SQL Server 2005 (84x)-> binn folder
entered the database infos into the files in bin folder as told and queried the code into the visual studio which was executed with no errors
I have tried to open CzF_Editor randomly with no special reason just to see if its configured well and i have understood that theres actually no connection inbetween SQL server 2005 and the files aswell as the CzF editor
i suspect that it has to do with my dedicated server hoster even tho its the first time i use sql 2005 server for mu i suspect that my host has different sql account settings than what you normally get ( sa ) but i hope someone who has already successfully used sql 2005 pls help
or is there a possibility that the default ODBC registry of the MMT files do not support SQLSERVER 2005 ?
2nd. My JoinServer.exe crashes lol. even tho all ips are right and i put my head into it, i have been checking and rechecking the ips for hours now... I suspect it might have to do with the previous problem (1st), i have tried several twicks with run compability and run as admin things but nothing works..
I wish i could downgrade my windows server 2008 to 2003 because this sql 2005 is taking the piss pls help me !

Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
thanks for this i have finished the ODBCs now i have re restored the databases for MD5 and installed the MD5 support aswell as i decided to try the SrTeam season 2 files now i am having a problem with dataserver that is the WZ_character which has probably to do with incorrect installation of MD5, or database or something

Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
kinda weird you stored the ODBC correctly but you still error.. headache LOL:lol:
did you restore the right database? or try restarting your machine.

Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
yes the database is correctly restored i guess, the Md5.dll file is on MSSQL.1 -> BINN folder
i have querried the SrTeam files query for enabling MD5
and afterwards i had the databases restored
but now i am trying to reboot and it delays much

same WZ thing error in dataserver.. man i wish i could install SQL 2000 in Windows server 2008 web edition cr@P
but it seems like something is not right with the sql 2005 like it needs some extra settings in access protocols or dunno
-
Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
Is there any possibility that the database baks dont fully support mssql 2005 ?, i m really desperate :'( or could i work SQL 2005 WITH OUT MD5?

Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
i have just reinstalled the sql server and fixed its accessibility i mean after trying to access it via event and ranking and other servers it works perfectly.. i have just opened the odbc.reg and rewrote the server name part i have even tried to create an account via an editor but the dataserver insists in the WZ_CreateChracter error on the side note i don't have MD5 enabled is it a must to enable md5 since its sql server 2005?

Re: Season 2, SQL 2005, Windows 2008
maybe your SQL2005 is still restricted and thats why the DS cant get access to the database
