Is Caffeine bad for you?
I drink 2 Red Bulls daily sometimes Monster (energy drinks).
I've searched Caffeine is not bad but too much can make you excited.
Also not recommended at night because you can't sleep.
This was just a thought.
Overall, Red bull is a different story when it comes to caffeine.
Due to Pantolthenic Acid....
So is this bad?:?:

Monsters (and other energy drinks) suger content is what's really bad for you.
The caffeine isn't too bad and effects everyone a little differently.

I see it's because my friend's store was for sale so they needed to clean out the store. They had like 6 boxes of Red Bull so I just took all 6 home. 1 box has approximately 36 Red Bulls 12 by 3.
So 6 x 36 = the total of Red Bulls I'll most likely drink.
I drank 2-5 daily so far no effects, its the 4th day.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Caffeine is not bad for you, its bad for your heart. Its like drugs, make your heart pump more and more, which can cause heart attack.. or heart can even stop after overdoze...
I drink red bull myself, but i dont really wanna die without having a good sex, so i dont drink many a day, maybe 2-3 a week ;>

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
It's safe to say that believe I have addiction to caffeine, since I was in primary school I used to drink a instant coffee every morning with breakfast (dipping Vegemite toast into the coffee - yum :P), and I used to get a iced coffee every couple of days on the way home from school, now I have a espresso machine at home which I have a coffee every morning, a coffee when I come home in the afternoon and sometimes after dinner I'll have another one, I don't take any sugar and haven't for the past three years or so but those energy drinks I drank for 3 months probably brought me my three years of sugar in 3 months :P
I used to drink a 4 pack of Mothers (500mL can of red bull basically) a day and was addicted to them for about 3 months (to an extent that I drank 6 in 1 hour & bringing it to a total of 8 for that day -- I posted it on RZ spamzilla somewhere) and I could feel myself shaking after two cans, I don't drink them anymore, and I don't plan to start drinking them again.
Imo drink those energy drinks on occasion, I wouldn't drink them daily.

This is what I meant by how it affects people differently.
It also makes me sleepy as well, and when i tell some people that they don't believe me ... :|

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Caffeine in general is not bad for you, but like all things it needs to be taken in moderation. In energy drinks, it is not in moderation; Having 1 can will usually put you over the recommended daily caffeine intake amount.
If you really DO need that many energy drinks, then something is seriously wrong and you need to see a doctor to find out why you are so fatigued. If you don't need them, then don't take any more than 1 every 2-3 days.

I had some type of effects, or it's either I'm not sleeping enough.
During the day, I have urge to drink more "Red Bull."
If I don't drink at least twice a day, my heart keeps pounding and I get all anxious/excited.
Any Ideas?

You have become addicted. What you are feeling are withdrawal symptoms from not drinking it.

Exactly.
Try deluding your body out a bit with some water?
I've always stayed away from caffeine.
First time I ever had a latte, I started getting really sweaty, and ran to go take a nice hot shower (was on a vacation at the time at a resort). I actually felt sick to my stomach.
Since then, I have maybe have had coffee less then 6 times or so?
Once at Dunkin' Donuts, and the other 5 times are half cups my mom has left over when her friends from work go out for Cappuccinos. (<3Cap). I actually had a cup yesterday to try out this really amazing peppermint creamer my history teacher recommended to me (Lol?).
I'm a tea addict, morning, noon, and night, so bleh@Coffee and energy drinks.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?

This is the shit.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
caffeine should not be drinked by ppl with weak hearts or are overweight(more chances to get heartattacks) a healthy person gets his energy dose from good breakfast and milk/water/tea/ice tea. shame im not healthy person. i just drink maybe 1 cup of coffee(strong black no sugar) in a day.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Little is alright but too much can be bad, always drink below the recommended dosage amount

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Caffeine really isn't the answer :/. It's like a Demon in disguise.
1 It raises Cortisol levels in the body. Cortisol is a hormone that is responsible for fat storage in the body. I dont think we need any help there. Have you heard of the weight loss product Corti Slim. It basically blocks Cortisol from doing it's worst, storing fat. The guy you hear on the radio and see on TV forgets to tell you that a MAJOR cause of Cortisol production is caffeine. So quit the caffeine and leave the Corti Slim on the shelf.
2 It causes your blood sugar to spike. Then after the caffeine begins to wear off your blood sugar plummets. This causes you to crave sugar. In other words you think your hungry when you're really not. This is obviously counterproductive to your weight loss goal. Have you ever noticed you crave carbs after a cup of coffee. This is why. Your body is tring to get you to eat some carbs to get your blood sugar back to where it should be.
3 The end result of caffeine is really fatigue. After caffeine wears off you are tired. Then you have more caffeine. Then you are tired. Ect... By the end of the day most people who drink coffee are exhausted and they dont know why. This fatigue makes it difficult to exercise which is a one of the most important ways we should be getting our energy.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Drinking one every once in a while wouldn't harm your body that much, but drinking excessive amounts of caffeine (or any drink) wouldn't be recommended.
For me, I don't feel any hyper-activeness or rush after drinking a cup of coffee.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
I drink a lot of tea, which surprisingly has a fair amount of caffeine in it. I have a can of relentless once in a while when I need to be awake and alert (late night assignment work, long drives). I drink anywhere between 1 and 10 cups of tea a day though

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Excessive Caffeine is not good for you. It will cause Caffeine Toxicity which has many effects.
- Mental Depression
- Blurred Vision
- Skin Pigmentation
- Impotency
- Menopause (YES! BE SCARED.. JK LOL)
I know someone who suffers from them. Believe me when I say that.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Caffeine leads to depression, makes you irritable and gives you the shits.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Caffeine keeps you awake (or it's supposed to) when your body is telling you it's tired. So that would lead me to believe it's bad for you :).
Then again, if you need to stay awake, just take some Adderall.

Re: Is Caffeine bad for you?
Professional Athletes benefit from Energy drinks, since they are constantly burning calories and need the supplements to keep them going (even the military doesn't need energy drinks, unless you're deployed and awaiting to support).
Caffeine can give you heart problems if you take over the daily amount your body can handle. Play it safe, drink water. it's better for you anyways.
