Re: New images of 9/11 released
Amazing post man, speechless. Beautiful yet infuriating.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
I can't even imagine the amount of horror the people in New York must have felt, and still feel.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
That's a load of smoke and ash right there.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Thank you for these. I remember that day clearly. My sister was freaking out because our uncle was supposed to be on one of those planes to go meet up with a client to discuss his lawsuit. Good thing he canceled the day before.

I think this is like Gen Y's JFK assassination, like most of the older people could tell you where they were when they found out JFK got shot, and I think that's the same with the twin towers, I was in year 6 at the time and I was like 'awesome', didn't even think people blew themselves up at the time.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
I had just come home, and hadn't heard about it. Most of my family was crowded around the TV in disbelief, I was just angry, I guess it annoyed me that I was so far away and it was impossible to help. My father was actually on the way to America at the time, although wasn't flyng that day thankfully.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Those pictures are actually beutiful, though it was a terrible thing that happened that day.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Everyone should remember that day..
So much smoke. How many lifes did this cost btw?
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Those images took over 79000 hours in MSPaint.
How come it's taken so long before they were released btw?

I was thinking the same thing, do cops really have that good of quality cameras?
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Gosh, seeing these images just remind you the huge scale of it. The tiny little cars in the car park.
Thing is, this years 9/11 im doing a wedding..
i think the event has sorta been forgotten, unless they are getting married on that day to remember a loved one, not sure..
edit,
the more i look at the photos, the more i feel like crying.
the amount of people who died in that.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Never really knew what happened on 9/11 but now its all clear to me .. Thanks Roamer for pictures ^^
Re: New images of 9/11 released
I think 9/11 is one of those days where everyone knows where they were.
Amazing pictures of such a sad moment.

the article said that they were the only photographers allowed in the area. they were in police helicopters
Re: New images of 9/11 released
It's amazing how the dust completely covers all of Lower Manhattan (or Lower East, whatever). Even seeing the fires on the different floors is quite amazing, yet it's such a horrible event.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
This is spectacular. It's horrible seeing it all, but it definitely makes you wonder. I wonder what It would have been like in one of the buildings being overcome by the dust.

It's very common that the public receives evidence of the event, years after it happened.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Stunning pictures! But horrible thing that happened there.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
Those images are amazing including the quality..
My father's friend had a DVD combined with people filming from the buildings, at and near the incident. It showed some local filming during the accident, but not in the buildings, very close to them. The victims that were attacked by the smoke, dust, and debris were 100% gray after they got up. The smoke from far away looks like you could see nothing at all if you were in there. When the person was filming, it's like you can see air. You can see what's around but it was all gray. It's just so sad.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
I could not imagine me on one of those building, must have been a night mare.
Amazing pic angles.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
This picture brings back my confused look back in 3rd grade. I was picked up early because everyone else had left school due to the attack. I didn't know much about the twin towers until i actually saw the documentary the very day after. I remember smelling and seeing ashes fly all over my block and all the other blocks. The smoke really traveled and lingered all around the 5 boroughs. The ashes looked like burnt paper but the touch of it was like dust. I feel bad for people who were at that specific area at the time, because many of them breathed the asbestos into their lungs which caused them to have cancer now. Luckily, my parents were off from work at the time. R.I.P to all those who suffered and died in this tragedy. I will never forget this horrific event because the images are still very vivid to me.
Re: New images of 9/11 released
I was in Primary school when this happened, all i remember is my stepdad picking me up from school and when we got home starting watching the news he said there had been some fires in america.
An opportunity for some amazing images though, I like the pentagon ones too although no where near as much damage
Re: New images of 9/11 released
These images are truly breathe taking, and stunning. But when you think about what really happened that day you get a sickening feeling.
