Advanced VB2008 Web Browser <Netrex Browser 2.5 Beta 3> <Updated When Worked on>
Hello. I'm Justin from Netrex Labs and I'm One of the designers and programmers of this fine project, and I'm here to show you all our new beta of Netrex Web Browser. It is the most advanced one ever made in Visual Basic 2008, This version will be released sometime this month. Due to our new component we switched to we lack small features we fixed most of them but the features me missed will be released on Netrex Browser 2.5 Beta 4. Here is the features our browser has. Which no other web browser has.

It looks strikingly like Google's Chrome Browser. I noticed your background image has a wrapping issue, it breaks after just a few pixels.
Something a bit semi-transparent and full would probably work better.
You can use the image attached, designed by me for WysGui CMS' window borders. You can use it, just keep the file-name in tact.

[Edit: Errors]
I have a bunch of errors trying it with Windows XP
Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Re: Most Advanced VB2008 Web Browser Ever <Netrex Browser 2.5 Beta 3>
Boasting that a browser (which almost certainly isn't even doing the heavy lifting) is the "most advanced browser written in VB" is probably the most underwhelming compliment you could ever ascribe to yourself.
It also depends on what you claim "most advanced" describes. A majority of the rendering code and JS engine (and whatever else is provided to you) is likely C++. You're essentially just talking about a GUI shell here, there's nothing really advanced in that.
Also, be more original.

I'm saying .NET does everything for you. The only difficult part of a web-browser is writing the rendering engine and JS engine incorporated with a DOM tree. That is all provided for you so you're only writing a GUI and tossing a .NET widget into it. Using Gecko is just basically embedding firefox in a different GUI. There's a saying that fits well here: "if it isn't broke, don't fix it."
Don't be so impressed with your project. Take a browsing of the Gecko source sometime if you want a taste at just how complex what you're taking advantage of really is, and how much is done for you.

Fixing glitches isn't something that's difficult. By glitches you likely mean simple issues or GUI related weirdness. That's just a result of the fact that almost all of the really impressive and complicated code has been written for you and debugged very well through years of wear and tear.
Re: Advanced VB2008 Web Browser <Netrex Browser 2.5 Beta 3>
Like jMerliN said you basically just made a GUI.
No matter how you look at it it's just IE or Firefox (didn't read) repackaged.
But good job anyways looks like you spent a lot of time on this.
Re: Advanced VB2008 Web Browser <Netrex Browser 2.5 Beta 3>
XP doesn't come with the AERO theme? Who exactly does the browser work for?
Also from the screenshot, (unless you have a strange windows theme), it doesn't look like typical AERO to me :/
It needs to work for XP and above, not some weird hacked version of XP.. Wtf?

He's not flaming you.
He's giving you advice in a harsh tone.
LOL!
But seriously, you should stop bragging.
There's really not much to doing the following:
Code:
Opening up VS
CTRL+SHIFT+N
VB
WinForms
Downloading Gecko
Adding it to the form
Adding graphics
Coding events
See what I mean now?
If you made your own html/js compiler, maybe you could say its the best VB browser, cuz I've never heard of a browser made from scratch in VB.
However, you did not code it from scratch, and instead, used Gecko.
Have you ever taken a look in Gecko's source before?
You're dealing with some serious C++ sh*t there.
And since you stated that this is in VB...C++ != VB.
If you consider this as a good browser, I can do it to!
