Securely access your SQL Server from a remote place
This has been a subject of some discussions lately and since I hope that A3 GM Tool V1.0 will soon be released, I think it's a nice time to discuss secure access to your A3 Server from Home, office or any other remote location.
I won't be writing another guide about this since it's already discussed 1mil times on the net. It's very secure to use this approach provided that you keep your RSA keys secured.
In short:
SSH Tunneling using RSA authentication keys which can easily be stored in any USB key. This way you will even be able to administer your A3 server even from a public place (provided that there are no keyloggers installed).
Follow any guide (like this http://erikjheels.com/?p=470) to setup VNC or RDP over SSH, when you are successful with this you can just copy putty & your RSA keys in any USB Stick and go on vacation ;)
Follow the same steps to establish an SSH tunnel with your SQL server and voila, you can connect to it from anywhere securely! Even if someone steals your sa password he won't be able to connect.
