im running a test server and dont think i need a world with mobs , but i still want to be able to spawn them.
do i need to run NPC server for that or can i run it without it? ..
i tested to run without it but didnt manage to spawn any mobs.. i used //summon <mobname> and that did not work.. or do i use wrong command for that ?
Yes AFAIK the NPC server has to be running for you to be able to summon any kind of mob.
Yes the NPC server has to be running but you should be able to nuke all NPCs from spawning by emptying out the npcpos.txt file. From then on you should be able to summon each mob you wish to be there, but once it gets killed it will not come back. Keep in mind this has never been attempted that I am aware of so I may be wrong.
It shouldn't fail, because... well, i didn't have archon susceptor in npcpos, but i was still able to spawn him, because it was properly defined in the server.
