1. Downloads Needed

Java 6 Update [#] (JDK) - http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp --- Info: It doesn't matter what [#] it is. Just look for Java 6 Update with JDK. It should be the first link.

2. Java Files

Step 1.

After installing Java 6 Update [#], open your Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files. Extract if it is in WinRar format, and copy the items inside the folder. (should be legal_policy.jar and US_export_policy.jar)

Step 2. Once you have your legal_policy.jar and US_export_policy.jar and copied with [ctrl+c], navigate to these folders and copy and paste legal_policy.jar and US_export_policy.jar files into them.

C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\lib
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\jre\lib <---- Btw, that 0_10 just represent the update [#]. As long as your update number is above ten, then you're fine.

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\jre\lib\ext
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10\jre\lib\security

Overwrite if it asks to copy and replace.

3. MySQL Query Browser

Step 1.

Run WampServer(you downloaded it)left click the icon in your system tray and click "Start All Services." It should turn from red to yellow momentarily and then to white. If not, ignore it for now.

Step 2. MySQL Query

Run MySQL Query Browser. If you entered a password during setup, then enter that into the password field. In "default schema," enter "odinms." Leave everything else alone.

When inside MySQL, right click odinms and set it as default schema(if it isn't). Next, go to the top left, click file, and click open script. Minimize MySQL and go to ThePack(it should be in WinRar so extract it to you where you want. After extracting, maximize MySQL(go back to open script) and navigate to ThePack. There, inside ThePack, should be a folder called ThePack SQLs. Open that and execute all the files in there IN ORDER

You are done with MySQL for now.

Step 1.

Go to ThePack folder and you should see different files in there. The specific ones we are looking for are

World.properties
Channel.properties
Login.properties
Db.properties --- only if you had a password for MySQL.

4. Editing ThePack

Open them in notepad. Inside World.properties, there is a line that says
net.sf.odinms.world.host=5.85.197.254

Change to net.sf.odinms.channel.net.interface= [ put your WanIP in here if you want public. If not, put 127.0.0.1)


For login properties, find the line - net.sf.odinms.world.host=5.85.197.254
Change to net.sf.odinms.login.key=localhost


For Channel.properties, find line - net.sf.odinms.world.host=5.85.197.254
net.sf.odinms.world.host=localhost

5. The Ports to Forward

I will not teach you how to portfoward, however. These are the ports needed to be forwarded

8484, 7575, 7576, 80, 8080.

Only Forward 80 and 8080 if you use a website. But keep 80 open for wampserver. =) By now, wampserver should have turned yellow.

6. Editing LocalHost

Install HexWorkshop v5. Run the program and press ctrl+O. Open localhost.exe (A.K.A AngelMS) (a non existant server now.)

Press CTRL+F and select text string. Type 76.247.212.221 and press enter. Edit the three lines of those same numbers to your WanIP

If you have done it correctly, it should still look like a mushroom.

7. Starting your Server

Go into your ThePack folder and find a bat program called "Starter." Run it and it should say " listening on port 8484. Then Channel 1, and Channel 2 online.

To see if it works, double click your LocalHost(must be in your v62 folder) and log in as Admin:Admin (username:password). If you can log in, distribute your localhost (renamed to whatever your server is,) and your friends can play!

Awesome tutorial. I've made server and is working now.. And.. I want to ask you.. What is use of wampserver? I still don't get it.

Its used as a server for MySQL (or more like what MySQL runs on. If you try running MySQL without wampserver, you'll see it wont let you connect)

Meh some are too confusing. I tried to make this less confusing =P

Thanks for making my server work. It works good with the clean localhost.when I used no damage cap localhost, i go click my character, it dcs. I see server bats it shows that server dc my localhost. I don't know wth is wrong with my localhost.

I get this error any idea how to fix? my Wamp server is online the only thing i dont know if i did right was hex eddit it properly.

go search "runtime error" in this website.
I don't have link so..
(go for innovative's fix)

I always have this problem after hex editting:
-Angel MS.exe is not a valid win32 application.
(and it does not look like a mushroom).

I've tried like 3 other tutorials already, and I'm ALWAYS stuck at hex editting the localhost. I can edit, 3 occurences are replaced, but once i click save, the icon changes the picture (not a mushroom anymore).

Anyone can help me solve this?

Findings after some experimenting:

the numbers that i have to change 76.247.212.221, has 11 "digits",
and when changed into the the hex thing form it has like 22 numbers.

however my wan ip only has 10 "digits" e.g. 220.255.7.131,
when changed into the hex thing form it has 20 numbers only...

therefore when i save it, the mushroom picture changed.

When i actually replaced the 76.247.212.221 with numbers of 11 "digits",
eg. 123.456.789.00 it actually DIDN"T change the picture of the mushroom when i saved it.

*** i still need help on how do replace 76.247.212.221 with my wan ip without actually changing the picture...***

You must be written something wrong. Check again& again till you think it's proper. Download PURE localhost only for v62 don't download localhost having any option like no damage cap,etc. Mushroom mark should come and has to respond even your server is off. If works, good for you.
