Re: [Release] Aion DB Manager V1.0
Installation:
I'm using Windows XP, and assuming you already have your Aion Server Installed including the databases with the
default names (au_server_gs and au_server_ls)
You need to install this software first in order to use this Editor: (All mandatory) (Skip this if you
already have them)
- Microsoft Access (The version I'm using to work on this is Access 2003, I haven't tested the functionality
with other versions, but it should work with Access 2000, 2003 or 2007) Test it.
- MySQL Connector (ODBC Driver for MySQL): http://www.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/
- Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
After you install all this, you need to create 2 System DSN entries to link MS Access with the Aion Databases
(au_server_gs and au_server_ls)
You have to create them with this names.
AionGS
AionLS
Go to you windows Control Panel -->> Administrative Tools -->> Data Sources (ODBC)
Follow the images for a HOW TO:
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2170/dnsstart.jpg
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4346/dns00.jpg
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1265/dns01.jpg
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/5334/dns02.jpg
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/3691/dns03.jpg
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2681/dnsdone.jpg
Once you got all the software installed and created the system DSN, you can proceed to Install Aion DB
Manager. Use the installer provided (test it!) Report any issues please!
In the installation process it will ask you to install DBpix (Install it with the default values) and will ask you
to import a value into the registry for DBpix (Import it). Finish the installation.
DBpix is an utility for MS Access to interact with the images in the database. (To add images into the items
database)
That's it
Open the Aion Database Manager, and test it!

Where are your databases located, inside your windows box or your linux box?
What MySQL Manager where you using to navigate your databases?
I mean if you are using e.g., Navicat you just need to add the same information you use inside Navicat to connect to the database. Your host name
Your MySQL listens from?
This tool shouldn't care about that, as long as you use the Data Sources Names correctly AionGS and AionLS
In your DSN connection:
Data Source Name: AionGS (or AionLS)
Description: Your description
Server: Where your MySQL server listens from
User: root (or your custom user)
Password: Your password
Database: Select Your Database (e.g. au_server_gs)
And click the button Test and if its says successfull connectionm it should work.
Try this and tell me about your results.
Re: [Release] Aion DB Manager V1.0
does not appear to work with access 2007 on win7 x64, missing or broken msxml.dll Looks like a great program for those it will work for!

I'm not sure about this, I haven't tested under any 64bit OS. Are you using MySQL odbc for 64bits right?
If you are using Access 2007 you'll probably have to allow this program to start. I don't know if this is the case but access by default blocks applications. I think access 2007 gives you a message about this.
Can you attach screenshots of your error messages?

Re: [Release] Aion DB Manager V1.0
yes the obdc is 64bit, yes it asks and i allow access, and here is a screenshot of the error when it opens the manager screen closes leaving access open in the background

Try this: uninstall your MySQL ODBC connector and re install it, then tell what happens.

Ok I did some research. The odbc connections of this tool are not compatible with a 64 bit OS by default.
There's a workaround involving the redirection of the 32bit odbc driver in your Data Sources Administrator.

I don't have a 64 OS right now, I'm afraid I can't test this. If you can solve this issue, let me know. :(:
Re: [Release] Aion DB Manager V1.0
