It's easier for us to debug while we run the server in comparison to other people running servers and us trying to reproduce the error for the crash, since if any crashes occur we usually have the stack on hand, and can figure out the source of the crash. If people would start acting more mature about everything and come together to make one GREAT server, instead of all this BS fighting, then this community could potentially be saved.

Old news. I personally reported it a long time ago. Because they don't restrict german servers or the other smaller country releases, there is no need for any kind of protection. Their money maker is of course, america, UK, japan, etc.
Besides, you could lock the thing up like fort knox and it still would be hacked.

Which means a great deal of people who come here looking for leech, help, etc are in that range. Far from mature.
However, there are a select few who have a good head on their shoulders as well as people older than that, myself included.
People were hurt by the caali situation. People were hurt when open source servers went closed, and people were hurt when people started releasing the official files.
There is always going to be a retaliation for every situation around here. It won't change unless we ban the officials like caali. But then the young ones will throw a fit and call in the trolls to advocate for them, like before.
Personally, I've had nothing stolen that I made. I guess I'm the lucky one. But I can't speak for other forums out there. I don't know if my open source was used, ripped and stolen outside of here. Main reason being I couldn't give a shit less if it did. I know I worked hard on it and I personally would applaud anyone who could make sense of my coding because its not the easiest to understand.
I feel for people who get their work stolen. I also know that web design is a cut throat business. Because the source is readily available sans the server side code, its nearly 100% possible to grab the site, change a few pictures and layout parts, and you got another website. Normally, if it were me, I would credit the original layout designer and put my name under it saying:

Personally, I hide a timestamp somewhere in the code which is nearly impossible to find. Muahahaha! Though it's not 100% if you know what to look for.
I also recommend you push for an online copyright, which is free if you look on google, to protect your work down to the T. Should your work get stolen, you tell them and they can sue the infringing person unless they surrender the code.
Trust me, it works.
That being said. Why keep fighting over petty bullshit when this community could be putting out better servers and content.
I'm going to say this about WoW servers. The three I play on are the best out there by far. Neverendless, RageCraft, and Centurion. Almost all of them are 3.3a or the one below. I don't play on Blizzlike rates, funservers, or true servers. All pvp all the time! Makes for a great game. Plus I don't feel like grinding for 3 hours for one level. crap.

The sites i have created in the past i have either used their site and gave credits or used there site as a template and changed everything, just to make it easier. Ive always been the coding side to the website not the design. Designs come last in my priority. Security and usability are my top.
