Here is my ecm + gfx package to bring mermaid contents alive:
Requirements:
- Downgraded Client 1.3.6 v101 (from source: PWI 1.4.2 v283+)
- Use with other 1.3.6 clients not confirmed...
Features:
- some of the tideborn monsters gets animation (except those models *.ecm that uses links to *.att & *.mphys)
- enables all effects on nirvana weapons
- eanables effects on new mounts
- enables some environment effects of the tideborn maps
- ... and maybe much more, haven't figured out yet
* Keep in mind, this was an automated fix and not a conversation. Incorrect ecm/gfx files may crash the client if the corresponding items appear on the screen (will be rendered). I've checked some of the content ingame, but only less than 1%, so don't blame me if your client crashes on items, npcs, mobs, mounts or environment...

I'll give out a build version of my tool that was used for fixing the files, but i've mostly worked in debugging mode to check parameters so it comes without any warranty, support,...
sMODfix
Quick Instructions:
- Start program, be patient while bing online translation service is initializing
- Select a directory containing the source gfx + ecm files (sMODfix searches recursive)
- Select the file and version filter to create a file list
- All files shown in the filelist will be fixed
- Click version analyze to check if all files in the filelist are supported by sMODfix
- Select the target directory for fixed files(directory structure will be keept on fixing)
- Click fix to start the process

* Don't use this tool to create your own complete package, i've deleted some files manually from the above package after fixing, cause they caused the client crashing!

Ronny may use smapedit .. are able to access areas that can not reach .. maybe we all should do the same thing
or maybe yes he came into the area dengna using GM Access is jumping by pressing the M button and the CTRL

I can't move in tideborn area, i only use GM teleport... Sometimes i teleported on a water surfaces but without watermodels on my client it looks like i was jumping around

loving the work, eistiger spent ages working on support for 1.3.1/1.2.6 client and it never really worked...
remember we can only remove the new features that are causing errors in the .gfx files. if the .gfx actually uses the new feature (that we dont support) we are well..... screwed.
such as most of the gfx for the latest human flight, which doesnt work and would need to be manually remade to emulate the unsupported effects.

the way the program edits all the files in batch is very very useful.
the output and input folders get a little tedious when you have many different folders to edit however, it would be alot easier to use with a "set output folder to input folder" button, or simply a file tree at the side that you can keep open the entire time and just click a folder, also the output bar bugs when u maximise.

if thats not the problem then try ajusting your language settings to make it show chineese.

this program was just a day fly for me only to do this fixing task ^^
But your idea with a tree browser on sidepane is awesome... maybe i'll do it in the future

Ronny could suggest a fix for this or maybe add a horizontal scrollbar so you can see the whole file path and it doesnt get cut off.

translation only shows the substructure of input directory. select an input directory with less depth, than the translation shows more sub directories...

I immediately noticed that your fix is different from the fixation Eistiger's.
For example fix genie Eistiger's working well and weighs less, but your fix leads to a drop in customers.

with this "fixit" of sorts... do the tideborn wings/flights work correctly? (or, should I ask; do they work pre-ECM&GFX fix?) i made several pair from my elements "elf class requirement" and they don't appear... i see sparkles, and the animation is correct, but the wings are missing.

i haven't checked tideborn wings, but if they don't appear, i think the fixing failed for them...

well, see, I didn't do the ECM/GFX fix yet, I was curious if the wings were included in it. (which I suppose aren't now lol)
But, without the fix even, I know that they aren't showing up for me. (see attachment) and I haven't been able to figure out why.

I did the ecm+gfx fix today (as well as the new meditation you released) however the tideborn wings still aren't sppearing. everything else is absolutely beautiful :) thank you for the release ronnie!

I discovered a bug, if someone place the flamedrill item 24763 on even not active as a flier, in thier flight spot. Or has it out within visual range of the ecm fix installation u get a crash of client. of whoever sees it. Not sure why yet looking into it but it certainly causes the crash every time without a doubt.
The flamedrill on my client has no animations.

I noticed this as well quite recently. Here's my reportbug screenies. Hope they might help, though i'm not sure how. or which entry was the issue. lol.

Okay. I have a small problem, I might just be missing something simple so hopefully someone can answer this.
I got daggers working as claws on my development server. All is fine and they work wonderfully, animations looked perfect when hitting a stake or monster, but some of the weapons themselves weren't showing up and I realized it was because my PWI was slightly outdated when I first downgraded it. So I re-updated and downgraded PWI and all was fine. However. Some of the daggers' GFX were not showing in game, though they all looked to be fine in the ECM files I looked at.
I used sMODfix to fix the .ECM files, they popped into the right output directory as "fixed" and half of the fix worked to solve my issue however the other did not fix my problem. I was able to fix hh/tt99 daggers but not the hh/tt100 one. Does anyone have a clue why that might not have worked for that one but would have worked for the others? Is it something simple that I might have missed? Thanks for any input!
PS I attached screen shots of both, the hh99 as you can see has GFX but the hh100 does not.

Anyone kind enough to explain how to use sMODfix from A to Z please? Like once the files are fixed, do i have to replace those in the downgrader with the fixed ones? and do i have to reinstall all PWI 1.4.2 client and downgrade again? Do i have to choose lines 1 by 1, and where do i set the output? and once they're fixed, what do i do? how to make em active? lol thx a LOT in advance :P

New race fly do not work because of 210 GFXELEMENTID. We just do not have it in our elementclient.exe v1.3.4.
About crashing client... It's crashing when it try to play some of effect. To fix that you need just to cut your .gfx file (maybe it could crash because of some GFXELEMENTID, or because of some CtrlType, and 1 time I was fixing phoenix wing effects, and my client was crashing because of tail effect, and rather because of some collors in CtrlType).
About fixing animation or just showing model... If animation do not work you need just to compare .ecm file of this model with .ecm file of working model, and you will find the reason bag. If model do not show, hen just check the way in .ecm file to the .smd file. If that way is right than just delete all effects from this model, and likely you'll see your model.

When you are in the process of fixing the files using the sMODfix you have to have an output directory to put them in, or else they don't fix anything........
Set output to wherever you want the fixed files to be at, be that in the correct location where you would repack and add the files to your client's corresponding folder (i.e models.pck) or, in a separate folder to look at the differences between them. Should be fairly self-explanatory lol. Look up some threads regarding a pwpack program or models.pck and gfx.pck and see what you can find...
Also, if you downloaded the ecm+gfx fixed group of files (not just the program) it should explain a little more where you would put the fixed files when repacking them, depending on the item...
and no, unless you didn't save any copies of the files that "work" to begin with without any unknown additions to it, you should not have to re-download PWI and redowngrade the client... that would be a little much. Just keep a copy of the original ones before you make any changes or additions so in case you have trouble you can replace and go back to the start. that's what I have been doing.

and for future reference, if nobody else has ronnies files, ronny has a whole separate site thing (click one of the links under/on his signature) for at least some of his work where you can find downloads and such... i'm not sure the ecm+gfx things are there but there's his autopatcher (which i've found extremely useful as of a day or so ago, regarding re-packing or injecting files into clients, threads about it should still be on the first or second page of PW development) and several other useful programs he's done.

erm... i unpacked gfx.pck and models.pck, fixed the files, replaced 'em then repacked but, now i can't play cuz the new gfx.pck crashes the client. Any idea please?

erm... i unpacked gfx.pck and models.pck, fixed the files, replaced 'em then repacked but, now i can't play cuz the new gfx.pck crashes the client. Any idea please?

I too am having issues with the spear. I decided to do a forum search after making my own post but it took me back here to this thread, with camohainn's post. If anyone at least has any leads to what would cause the issue, or how to go about fixing it, I would try to fix it on my own and share the fix when it's done, but need "dumbed-down" information on how to do it. Any input appreciated.

I have 1.3.1 client exe... Not sure what Brian has but I get the idea he has the more recent 1.3.6 modded one... which probably means his spear/pike would not work on my client anyhow. That gave me another idea however. So thanks. i'll update my post when I try my idea.

Downgrade to 1.3.6
- use sMODfix to downgrade the gfx for this model to 1.3.6
- the result could contain some parameters that are not compatible with 1.3.1
Manual Conversation to 1.3.1
- first you need a list of supported parameters for 1.3.1
- extract gfx.pck (1.3.1)
- open the extracted directory in sMODedit v1.1c, select gfx & all
- select an output directory and click DEV OUT
- now open the new created file "modfix_devscan_gfx_commands.txt"
- this file contains all commands found in the 1.3.1 gfx files
- the second file "modfix_devscan_gfx_blocks.txt" is unimportant for you and can be deleted
- now open the 1.3.6 downgraded gfx file and remove the parameters that are not listed in the created 1.3.1 parameter list
*you can do it equivalent for 1.3.1 ecm

So, going along with the process, i compared the list of terms that should be or could be in the .gfx file, and everything seems to check out fine. Nothing is there that shouldn't be there.
So, what is the issue then? Could it be that my .gfx files didn't downgrade properly during the initial piece of this manual fix? (seems to be most likely, but then how would I correct that when I can't get them to appear?) Or, is there some other issue within the .gfx file's terms - and by that I mean are the numbers in one of the specific details of the .gfx file off or something?

If nothing is working, remove the gfx block that cause the problem from the corresponding ecm file:
- open the ecm for the spear
- find "CoGfxNum:"
- decrease the number by one (i.e. "CoGfxNum: 7" -> "CoGfxNum: 6")
- now you have told the model file to use "6" gfx files instead of "7"
- the ecm still has "7" gfx blocks inside, now you have to remove the gfx block that cause the error
- each gfx block in the ecm starts with "FxFilePath: " in your case start searching the block with the file "FxFilePath: 人物\通用\武器\武器效果\杖粉.gfx"
- now you have to find the end of the block (or the beginning of the next block)
- search for the next "FxFilePath: " or "CombineActName: ", this is the line of the following block
- now delete everything from the beginning of the block (including the line "FxFilePath: 人物\通用\武器\武器效果\杖粉.gfx") until the end of the block (excluding the line "FxFilePath: " or "CombineActName: " as it belongs to the next part)
- save the ecm, repack and hope that the removed gfx caused the error...
*use GBK encoding editor when editing these files, double click on a file in sMODfix will use MadEdit for editing...

The .GFX that causes the error (the one I checked using the in game command console using command d_gfx) is used twice within the .ECM. I should move both blocks of them then and decrease the number by two? or just the one still?

yes remove both
sMODfix works on all files that are shown in the filelist, make sure to select ">1.3.6", if no files are shown in the file list than all files are still 1.3.6 or below and no files will be processed...

the 200 does error depending on the content of the files they link to.
also the 210 is simply unsupported.

my opinion is if you can't understand even so simple programm, where you need just to click 2 buttons to make all work, you do not have to try hold server.
P.S. you can't imagine manual fixing, with no programm, hust notepad & your brain

Sorry for the late response,...
I did a manual fix for the weapon. I went into a in-game command console and pulled up single .GFX files one-by-one and when I crashed at one of them found out that that was the .GFX crashing my client, deleted the whole "block" of information for that .GFX within the .ECM of the weapon's files, and it worked :) (Ronny is to thank for the help, otherwise I would not know what to do xD)
Normally if things can be fixed using sMODfix I prefer it as it means I don't have to take away anything from the item... but since that didn't work, the manual fix did and I can't notice a difference between mine or anyone else's spear.
