I have the old CD from way back when, so I downloaded an emulator and now I'm playing all the way through. ( never finished it).

Not finished it either... think I played it til about 3/4s way through.
I cheated in it by exploiting the gambit system, getting it to auto-level me chars to level 99 overnight :P
I think I'm at the start of the game, one day I was bored. Looking through my old games collection and said to myself... Why haven't I played FF12? Fired it up, loaded my save and I was in a sewer, killing rats.
That's why I didn't play it :(.

Gambits made FF12 way too boring. I left it afk for a few days and just let it level the chars alone... Some auto attacks, and some auto heals and you're good to go for as long as you want to leave the ps2 on 8D
Then after I afk'd it.. .I quit playing it, went back to replay 10 all the way through for the god knows how many times i've played through it now...
Played through 13 as well and got bored on my second go around. Then switched to Nier thus lately which is rather fun.
Yea. I figured that out myself. The game is basically it's own automation. Like you said. It plays itself lol.
