[N64] A Look Back

Its been almost 14 years since the Nintendo 64 first hit stores, and almost 9 since it was discontinued. I've got one of these bad boys sitting on the shelf collecting dust. (No controllers, no game packs, no cords.)

If you played one, had one, or still have one, which games did you have/liked the best?

Personally I was a Donkey Kong 64 Fan, along with LOZ: Ocarina of Time/Majoras Mask. I also enjoyed StarFox64. I can vaguely remember playing a James Bond game, which wasn't too bad if you played it with friends.
I was pretty psyched when I was able to get Star Fox on the Wii Downloads, as well as Zelda. Unfortunately DK64 is a no go for now :glare:.

My recollection of the N64, or of its games, are very few compared to what you guys are bound to have, so lets here em'.

Being an avid gaming enthusiast, I've got every well known console dating back to the Atari 2600 onwards, including a fair few lesser known ones like the 3DO, Neo.Geo, CD-i, 32x and Jaguar, to name a few. And all of them in prime condition still with it's box, connection leads, etc. and peripherals.

Suffice to say, I really enjoyed the days of the N64, with it's 4 players multiplaying - having quite the modest collection of games for it.

Ah, nostalgia is awesome. Does anyone remember the name for Nintendo 9I think it was nintendo), it was a racing game, but like a gravity car racing game where you go through hoops and shit. It could have been for psx.

I always liked Pokemon Stadium. Heading to my friends house tonight, he has a mint condition N64. Fair few of the games I like for it as well.
DK64, Pokemon Stadium, LOZ Series etc.

Still have me and N64 hooked up to my tv :)

As this thread goes on I remember more and more games I should've had originally Haha.

Super Smash Bros, Mario64. I heard Bomberman was a good one as well but never really played it.

I remember playing the N64. All I remember playing was Goldeneye 007 and Super Mario 64. I am contemplating buying one off ebay again as I am back into retro consoles as I have recently started playing the gamecube again.

dude just download Project64. Trust me if you buy an n64 you'll play it for a week then it will just collect dust.

I mostly played Super Mario 64.

I've still got two N64s lying around somewhere but I've got no games for them though I kept the controllers and got an adapter so I could hook them up to my PC when I play one of the roms I've got in my collection and since my PC specs aren't too shabby the emulator runs almost as well as an actual console would ^_^

Damn I miss my N64 so much fun on that

Ocarina of Time, I had never played a game with so much freedom it was mind blowing.. although Majora's Mask was also good i found the whole 3 days thing really infuriating.
Ocarina of Time - Definitely a fond memory of my childhood

I still have my 64 and snes hooked up to my tv, ready to play in a moment's notice. :D

I've had a lot of the weird gaming systems too, like Sega CD, 32x (...I never ONCE got to play this because of some missing cables...ffffffuccccc---oh well), virtual boy, etc.

Anyway, as for the N64 (which I have hooked up in my wife's room), I liked--

The N64 never had too many games to really win me over when being compared to PlayStation though.

Mischief Makers was a beast, yo.

My 64 still works, but most of my games were stolen... :(

Yeah... my copy of Diddy Kong Racing was stolen :(
What you can do though is get an N64 usb adapter from RetroUSB and play emulated games on a PC. Feels almost as original as the real thing if you have all the video "enhancements" turned off.

Those were some of my favorite games.

I think that the Sega G series beat the n64 with the game's gameplay...
but the n64 is pretty cool too!
