Frantech & RageZONE updates!
Hello everyone,
To start - welcome back to RageZone! It's been a very very busy week for us over at Frantech, but it's all been for the better of our customers and the many communities we strive to take care of.
What has happened?
The company has moved itself from Portland, Oregon to Fremont, California. The reason for this is that the company can now grow into many new markets as well as offer many things to its customers that it wasn’t clearly able to before.
What’s new?
This move has finally given us control over our own routers and IP space. What this means to our users is that we’ll be able to finally be able to assist in any sort of attacks, apply custom routing and generally just better control over our infrastructure.
We’ve also been able solidify our SLA agreement with our datacenter and are able to offer a much stronger offering to our users that now includes as 100% SLA on our network connectivity – a very welcome change!
As many users remember, we suffered a very ugly power outage in January due to a blown power station – not anymore! Frantech is happy to have not only generators but UPS’s on site making sure that if something does happy, we’re not going to be camping out on the floor around a server fire singing songs (again).
What’s new to RageZONE?
Ragezone has been given a nice server tune up as well as a large performance tune up on the site. Many users, especially those on slower lines (or are international), should see a nice speed up in load times of the site. We’re still monitoring our changes but things are looking great so far.
What new product offerings will be available to customers?
Customers will soon be welcome to partake on our new private MySQL servers, nightly backups of their VPS’s, increased speeds on their connection as well as finally not having issues with sending mail to many ISP’s.
Thanks,
Francisco
Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
I'll be the first to say I'm a picky dick, before I was a tool and got my VPS's taken away from FranTech I'll admit their new load out performed VERY well. I put a lot of stress on them with gameservers and shoutcast and what not, and even their windows node didn't die when I /was/ a tool and ran some DOS attacks. (Sorry about that fran <3 was pretty immature of me.)
So even though FranTech has had issues I hope Ragezone members will forgive Fran and the FranTech name, and maybe even try out the hosting packages offered.

Hey Dawson,
The network was the last of our 'issues' at Frantech so i'm happy that we're not having to deal with that anymore :)
The new VPS's perform very well so i've been super happy about that.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Hrmm; "...suffered a very ugly power outage in January due to a power outage...".
But what caused the power outage? :P

Nice catch, 3am writing sucks ;-)
I'll correct that.

Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
Wondered if you'd lost your way :P but yeah, nice going of getting it up ASAP i was trying to follow it while it was happening . :)
Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
Because of this whole experience, people should really turn to you. I don't think I've ever seen dedication like it.

Thank you for keeping us updated.
Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
You guys really should have a more professional outlook.. I mean is really that hard to have your own website, rather than simply using the default WHMCS skin? It'd also have been helpful if you used your Twitter account during the move, or utilized FranTech.ca for updates, etc. Anyways, that's just my two cents.

Hey there,
We updated the site as we could and did heavy amounts of mass emails. The only phone we had on hand was an AT&T one and the coverage between Portland and Fremont is crap to say the least :(
We have a site in the works, but we always got pulled away from doing things like that due to always having to handle issues at the company. With that being said, though, we finally have free'd up a lot of time and I'm able to get to the site, advertisements and things like that :)
Thank you for the constructive input!

Well, I think we are all just glad to have back RaGEZONE ;).
Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
Hallelujah that the move is over! I'm very surprised at the updates, very nice job Fran, I see what you did there :P. I really like the more control over the routers and IPs, that could really come in handy.
Although, at the same time I'm dissapointed and saddened, since because of the downtime my server had to close down ( because its name was ruined and barely anyone came back to play :/ ). However, all will be fixed as we're re-opening under a new name, and fixing up the bugs that the previous people had troubles with, so hopefully this time our luck won't be so bad, haha :).
All-in-all, I'm just happy everything is back up and running smoother than ever. Hehe ;).
Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
So just a heads up question really, what was the colocation facility you were using in Oregon anyways?
Nice to see the move went well, doesn't matter how long it takes now, it'll pay in the long run amiright?

Hey there,
If your community suffered because of the long delay of the move just open a ticket and we'll give back to you for the financial loss.
We were in "The Pittock" in Portland, and are now in "Fremont #1" with Hurricane Electric in Fremont.
Thanks,
Francisco

Totally ;)
If there is no network issues and no VPS issues, we can focus on opening more services for our users as well as making our support better and better.
It's been a hard move and a lot of upset people, but we're doing our very best to make sure it's awesome.
Thanks,
Fran

Re: Frantech & RageZONE updates!
Damn you reply fast.
Just a quick question, any idea on when KDev is gonna be back up? xD
If all goes well with the new provider, i might buy a VPS this summer :D
If I get my SIN mailed to me in time for applying season that is xD
