[Project] Online RPG

Well after some thought i have decided to create an online MMORPG text based. It will be created in PHP, Mysql, HTML, CSS

It will be most likly based on middle ages.

There will be 3 classes.

* Warrior
* Mage
* Archer

Warrior pwns archer
Archer pwns Mage
Mage pwns warrior

They will all be either male/female

It is pretty simple i know how it will work.

Basically you will each fight each other and you will get money (this will be a formula i havent chosen yet) based on each others level with some other things in between.

You can buy weapons potions and things from the shop but you cant attack people that are 10 levels below you.

The idea is to be the best.


So why post here?

Well i would like some support and i obviously need some staff/designers so here we go.....


I need

* 2 graphic designers pretty basic stuff but needs to look good must be able to create avatars for each of the classes.
* 1 Layout designer html basics are needed for this ( i can change to tabless layouts.
* Forum Mods

There is no website recruitment bit and this is more of a project than recruiting though i thought i would add it in.

What will prevent each class from fighting only the class it pwns?

Well if you have weapons and things it improves your chances and you have stat points you get 1 each level for strenghth initative and accuracy. So eventually for example an archer might be able to kill warrior.

Just as a thing, why don't you do some more math and let users choose stats each level, that way balancing so that all classes can potentially kill eachother if they stat the right way? :)

Edit: remember that you have to make the game fun to play even without any other users. Because people arent just gonna come and play without anything real to do (or like if there are 2 users online).

About stat points thats what i ment you get +1 each level to choose where to put it. i need ideas for how to level without fighting/dueling

Make it something like My Brute o_o.

Yeah, just do some fighting against monsters, make up a magical mystical with dragons and midgets and you have to fight em to get some stuff to kill some kinda ultimate boss to free the lands from the evil or whatevr I dunno :P.

Whats the story and whose role will the player play?
Just something random like half the games out there where you are in middle ages, play a hero who saves the village/town/country/world from monsters who just pop up after every 30sec?

They player will either be a mage/warrior/archer i need someone to make a story lol.

So you just got the action part figured out eh :P

Yeh once i get some developers and designers ill start. Yeh i guess only the action part.

In my opinion it should work itself the other way out. Start by creating a story and develop everything else ontop of that.

Well its a question regarding the background story. But if you don't have that it's kinda void.

So the player creates an account, logs into the game and is just another random guy who starts to fight eachother or monsters for no reason whats so ever. Sounds fishy ;)

I agree about the story. If you wont to create the story feel free im sure i will eventually get round to it.

i'd rather not, my head is already polluted with the popular storys. Go check in the general forum or so where you might find someone with some writting talent. I doubt you find any in the coders paradise :P

he probably wants to make a descriptional game with graphics. Something like ogame, or other games from gamforge.
