Game Development Project.
Some of you may know me from the MU section of the boards. I have started building a LARGE scale game. Let me explain it a bit first and where I currently am with it.
The front end of the game it finished, by this I mean what displays the game. And the backend will save information to a database that we want to record. I am planning on making this a fully 3D first person shooter but at the same time be a true online persistant world.
That was the easy part.
Now acctually comes the harder but more fun part of designing the game and objects that will be in the game. Things like weapons, buildings, characters, sounds, particles (sprites), etc...
Defineing the game and what it will be the objectives things like How will people level?, Where will battles take place? etc..
I cannot do all of this myself and really don't want to, because I have well, limited creative abilities. So I am going to offer this to anyone who may be interested:
If you are interested in learning or helping the development of the game you will have your name placed in the credits along with what you built or helped with. Also depending on the ammout of work that is put into building these objects or the game design itself. You may be looking at a future full or part time poistion with us one the game goes to a live status. However, all partisipants will also have a ingame account with a unique character or item that only developers and designers have access to. And all will qualify for CV, Alpha and Beta testing :)
At the moment we are looking for:
- People with knowledge in 3DMax, Lightwave, Maya, or Milkshape
- People with level design experience useing a tool similar to Valve Hammer or QuArK
- Skinners
- Texture artists
- Artists to sketch renderings of what we need, then pass those off to the modellers.
- Some scripting (a variation of C) may need to be done as well.
- Developers, we need some people to help acctually decide what the game will be exactly about and how it will function in its different stages.
Note: We do not need any coders, as we have 5 coders and the source for the game will not be released past the designated team of programmers.
Please send me a PM if you are interested in anything we need help with and how many hours a week you feel you can put toward the project.
