overkill...24gig of ram? for what? running your OS off of it? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have your comp anytime, any day, but for what you paid, I can pay off a year an a half of my car payment! a 260 gtx? Since you were paying 4.6k, might as well add the 480gtx or HD 5970 or something. Great comp nevertheless.

I need the specs for painting actually. My works needs me to paint on really large canvases like 9000 x 6000 px approx and at like 720 dpi ...Even 12 Gigs of RAM will make Photoshop lag .. so I do need kick ass specs for a smooth performance...

It's not overpriced really when you feel it's worth it .. and even if it is ... fuck it .. I still love the damn thing. :D

Na. Not problem at all. Performing way more than what I expected it to. It comes with a heat cooling sink so no over heating issues either and haven't noticed any signs of slowing down atleast till now.

I ran Photoshop today ... a huge as image which generally takes about 15 secs to render on my bro's PC which is pretty high end and has no lag at all on this one. Totally lovin it. As far as I'm concerned, it's worth the money.

Yeh. Am downloading a hell lot of em. Crysiz for a start. The internet says with these specs I can run two at full specs and alt tab between them in a second. Hopefully they're right. Temme if you got any other games you might want me to try out.

I was thinking the same thing, as well as what games will use 6-cores? My Q6600 quad core I bought three years ago still dominates cpu as well as my 480gtx

You won't be able to max Crysis with a sli 260gtx. Maybe get some decent bench but not max.

For half that price you can get the same thing + better graphics cards. And a better monitor (21,5'' TN monitor for PS work? come on...). And a better case. And probably better cooling. And that CPU can usually OC higher... You paid for the brand. Alienware offers expensive PCs, that's all. It's for people who want "the most expensive", not "the best".

You mentioned Crysis - you won't play it comfortably in 1080p+max settings+aa x4. You could for half that price.

Actually I am trying to buy a large TV screen but the problem is my setup is in my attic and most of these TV's have a viewing range and etc ... So tryin to find one which would suit me ....I have a 15 feet viewing range .. any screens I could go for?

Don't. TVs are designed for watching TV on, not computing. They can do it, but they just aren't as good at it as monitors are. I have yet to see a TV go above 1080p, because frankly at the viewing range a TV is used at, you just can't tell the difference. Monitors are at 1600p now that I have seen. You also want a really low response time (which again means nothing to a TV, but for gaming it is important). Contrast and brightness are a given.

Anyway as for the PC, it's basically a Dell with a higher price tag. I have never understood why people go for branding in boxed PCs when they can buy the components for it themselves. I prefer being able to choose my case personally, but I guess if you are looking for that Alienware *wow* factor, there is no real substitute. It's just a shame that the wow factor is largely diminished since Dell bought it. On the other hand if you built it yourself you could have used better components, or held back until the next gen comes out and got it at half the price. Warranty is both a benefit and a curse imo. If a component doesn't work you can still always send it back anyway, but you basically can't upgrade a premade box without voiding it.

Edit: Also, why no SSD? I have heard fastboot or w/e it is called it awesome. If I were to build a new system I would have an SSD for my OS since it's pretty awesome stuff.
