Process Starter, Alternative for MatchKeeper
I found this old program i made a couple of years ago. And complied it for this release.
What does it do?
- Check if an program (Matchserver) is running
- If not, it will start it.
How does it work, and how to use?
- Download and run
- Pick the path of your matchserver, or an other program you want to check
- Check the little checkbox in front of the file name
- Set the interval, between 100 and 10000
- Press the start button

Re: Process Starter, Alternative for MatchKeeper
This is excactly what I released a while back. Checks for what you wished to start (Matchserver, matchagent, locator) and if it doesn't find it, it opens it.

I dont know what you have released, but i found this old project of mine, and complied it, tested it and uploaded it.
If something like this is already released, sorry for that.

Re: Process Starter, Alternative for MatchKeeper
This could be done with a simple Batch script, why even use an executable?

You could even load said batch file on system startup oh so easily, so I'm not sure why you are hating on them.

They require less disk space, no overhead of say, the .NET framework, thus run faster than the alternative. What's not to like? The fact you see a command line window popup? The associated icon with the .bat extension?
I don't understand your reasoning.

Re: Process Starter, Alternative for MatchKeeper
hmm as far as i remember this was coded in vb6, so it wont need .net framework.

I didn't look at your application, and VB6 still has a sizable runtime that has to load prior to your application loading, thus some considerable overhead still occurs.
