Re: PHP RadioDev - Yes Again
This is actually more advanced then you guys think. He is basically allowing the users to upload a music file using MySQL (Hard ass configuration he did) Then it is streamed. Kind of amazing.

1. It's not advanced. I designed a basic replacement to Xythos in a few hours.
2. Uploading files is the easy part. Storing data in a MySQL database as binary data is not hard. It's also frowned upon in most cases as the data storage engines aren't designed to perform well with large blobs because it's really an abuse of what you can do, while certain filesystems are specifically designed for such things.
3. Streaming and downloading aren't different. Most audio/video formats permit the playback of data as it downloads (if the download is sequential), so a rate-limited download is essentially what we call "streaming." What's better is a client that is aware of what you're doing to intelligently download only as much data as the listener needs. For instance, YouTube, if you've noticed, will download a large chunk of the video very quickly then slowly download the rest -- this way you can start watching immediately without buffering and you're not putting too heavy a burden on their media servers.

Re: PHP RadioDev - Yes Again
this is cool but
1. same song plays when you load the page. you should mix it up.
2. my antivirus pops up and says this is possibly a harmful site (?)
