Awesome game. Get the DLC's too -- Zombie Island of Dr.Ned, Mad Moxxi (not very good...but w/e), and the Secret Armory of General Knoxx.
I've been waiting for a 4th DLC, but they're taking forever. Urg!

Fun for multiplayer - boring alone.
Great with friends, online though more often than not you're playing with someone who's modified the game, i.e. - cheating [as it's all saved, client-side]
Multiplayer REALLY does make this game what it is. And when I say multiplayer, I mean true multiplayer -- not that split screen stuff that is probably available on the console version.
It's best playing with friends rather than random online people too, since as Daedius said, they very likely have modified their saved data.
Very fun Co-Op, but it finishes too quick
It does finish really far too fast, but with the DLCs it extends a good bit. General Knoxx especially.
