Phobias (Request-a-Phobia!)

Well damn, I was going to post in the phobia thread.. it was locked because some n00by bumped it up from ages back, but I think the replies that were added straight away shows that ppl still find it interesting, so..

I messed around with some latin/helton/medical lingo/word stems stuff a while back on a different chat system, and came up with a whole lot of different phobia names (and resources/lists) and started a thing where ppl could tell me their wierdest phobia, and I'd give them the technical name for it, like Triskaidekaphobia (the number 13), or Aulophobia (flutes :icon6: )..

There were some that weren't COMPLETELY far-fetched, such as 'the fear that you will start laughing hysterically during a wedding' (Lyssogametogeliophobia) or 'fear of being in dark wooded areas during halloween' (Nyctohyloshamhainophobia)'..

And some which quite a few people said they thought they had, like 'fear that your computer is making all your decisions for you' (Decidologizomechanophobia)..

And other ones which were just completely silly, but still fun to throw around lol.. like 'Deipnodidaskaleinophobia' (fear of being eaten by school children) or 'Stasibasiamaxokoniophobia' (the fear that you will have to walk somewhere because your car is too dusty)

And then they just kept getting longer and longer :eek:

Like:

Mysoamathoric Dipsiohypsoclimacophobia - Fear of falling in the dirt while eating and drinking

Neoacousticiatychiary Melo-Lygyrometathesiophobia - the fear that all your freinds who used to be metalheads will eventually start listening to meaningless pop music

and this was a great one:

Spheksoastrial Phalacrosyngenesophobia - Fear that your relatives will go bald after being stung by wasps from outer space :mrgreen:

ok there are a bunch more but I'll make it last lol

These are all technically correct terminology for these phobias, even though they aren't 'clinically recognized' (duh lol)

anyone who wants me to give me the name of their normal or semi-normal phobia, or anyone who wants to challenge me with something really whacky, please feel free to post, and I'll give you your phobia name when I'm next online :)

Ranidacaligynephobia - Fear that all the beautiful women you see are really toads in disguise (hello princey lol)

Eurototrichopathic Cibopotophobia - Fear of drinking/eating soup and finding a pubic hair in it

Gamnonovercanostophobia - Fear that your mother-in-law will move in with you and insist on walking around in the nude

Chaetobelonial Arsonoikastrophobia - Fear of being in the middle of removing hair when the space-station which you're flying in is set on fire

Most of the ones I mentioned I put together ages ago, over the course of a few days in a realtime chat system.. The resources I used to research the correct names etc can be found on google, if you know what to search for.. and there are many lists of the regular phobias as well :)

Whats the feer of contracting aids through the consumption of processed strawberrys called?

Ok a serious one now... Not so much a feer but i cant stand the look of rocks that have little crystalls facing in on each other. To me it looks utterly disgusting and genuinly makes me feel sick o___0.

Another one is that i have a feer of small insects getting in my mouth / nose / eyes while walking / biking around.

Have a huge phobia of those little bouncing nit type things that you find on the beach. They freak me out soooo much i cant relax when im there if i see one o___0

Whats the fear of being raped my your best freinds mum called?

Fragraricyprinophobia - Fear of catching a venereal disease from strawberries or roses (they're from the same plant family, I can't see a differentiating word stem) - not sure what you meant by 'processed'..

Virginitiphobia = fear of rape, really not sure about the rest, those kinds of associations can be hard to define when I don't have formal knowledge of this stuff :P
