MSSQL. That is the official database used by Official Files.
You can (99.9998% not gonna happen) build an emulator, which would go along with MySQL. But read the bold part.
Uhm, there's no v15 mysql emulator.... Just happens some people are to dumb and ignorant to notice that Microsoft SQL is MSSQL and not MySQL....
this thread always make me lol xD..
Why? Because the official files are made for tons of users. MySQL would break down on this mass of queries. So they are using MSSQL.
But, I'm not sure if PostgreSQL would support this big mass of queries, but if it would, it would be even thousand times faster than MSSQL :)
It would be cool to see one based on oracle... I don't think they would need that much power though lol.
MSSQL much accomplisher than MySql
Just use mssql unless you wanna make your own .-.
Short and simple:
MySQL - Used mainly for emulators.
MSSQL - Used by the official FlyFF files.
can someone make a rank of the database engines now available?
considering stability, performance etc
Oh really?
Database Engine
Hey...
Well, time to time apear post with this question. and answers are vreally funny, but technically is that...
MSSQL aka Microsoft Sql: is a good database engine on windows platform cause many enterprises (specially software) use it for ur purposes. That include Games Engines and server, Games World are Business, Databases Engine World Are business and at last we are (Gamers and Games Provider) are victims of business... or something.
Mysql is a good and very fast Database Engine, oriented to small business and common people (like humans), so that are changed because many big enterprises use it too. (Good for Mysql Guys), finally mysql is so strong and stable, Games working with this will be a dream...
...compatibility is a problem, many games was designed with mssql. Change it is a Rock cheese (slow, tedious and stinky) :(
Other Database Engines are Powerful too, Oracle, Postgre, Informix (on the past), Sybase. but the problem still continue. Money and compatibility.
(my english are experimental but it pretend be useful ^.^ )
have a god day (o nite)
