You can either play classic (which is free) where you can place blocks anywhere and build anything.
Or play Survival Alpha which is the game in the video you posted where you need to mine materials to build a base and weapons in order to keep safe from mobs.
Alpha is alot of fun and it is definitely worth getting (AFAIK you need to buy alpha to play it) it gets updated regularly and will be made multiplayer soon hopefully.

Looks like the game engine used in Hexen - suffice to say, jez it looks old... :o
It looks really old indeed but its pretty fun to play if you like build up games and such. You can even play peaceful mode which let's you not get harmed by any mobs (they dont spawn). So that's a good way for a new guy to get the hang of the game :). I wonder if anyone tried Hard though:P?
This game is starting to get recognize now. I played this aWHILE ago. Seriously well glad to see it become truly a good game.

I'm still looking for a free download on its survival mode though.
Buy it, it's well worth it.

My friend showed me this game a few months ago and it's really awesome. I built a big giant huge tower once and saved the map. Theres some hack client you will want to download at worldofminecraft site, which gives you useful features suchas flight, increased speed, save map, etc.
You don't need privateservers for this game because anyone is able to host a server already.
My friend made some really awesome bots for this aswell.. one that lets you play battleship.. a character creates within a couple seconds, the entire battleship board, and the game functions properly, with rules etc.. :D

Got two entrances to two different mines inside the one complex which is almost entirely walled. Got lots of different things going on such as a big viewing tower, a second one nearly completed, a large indoor farm, a football stadium is currently being built and other things shall soon be on the way once I think of more things to add :P
online Mobs and serverside inventorys and signs got added on friday and a craftable compass that point to spawn.
Whoever is playing a pirated version is missing out

I could possibly get you whitelisted on a very popular server i play on.. but you will need legit version.
Only SeaNanners can make this game look good
It's not like hacking in other games.. In minecraft all you do is build maps, and hacks help you build. Most server admins will encourage it and use it themselves.Quote:
