Ingame radio thingy

I noticed that there is an ingame radio button. I also found the links they use inside configs.pck but they dont work at all. I tried own links to .ram streams ( real Audio, i hate it :D: ) but they also do not work at all. With the chinese links it opens a website telling you that the site doesnt exist, so i think it just sends the link to windows to handle it.
Now im trying to use FMOD, which can handle audiostreams without any problems ( also shoutcast links which are much better that Real Audio ) but i dont know how to give FMOD the link. If anyone knows how to handle this, please lemme know. Every single idea could help :):

You want to directly stream the radio from the game and not an external player? Correct me if i'm wrong...

FMOD is more or less an external player but its more a plugin than a program so maybe i could make a small program that start in taskbar when i start the launcher and closes itself when the game closes.

If I remember right someone /did/ get the in game radio to work... lemme see if I can find the thread about it

Looks like they used the real networks files for that. Thats almost the same like FMOD just in a laggy and bigger way. Sure that works too but i try to integrate a small player that not instantly bug you with Real Audio stuff ( did i say that i hate Real Audio ? :D: ) like commercial popups and stuff. Also Real Media things send data to their creators all the time and thats what i dont want.

its just a playlist that you simply create it isnt hard to do at all.

That sentence confuses me. I know that the client just sends out the link entered in configs.pck to windows and windows itself decides what to do with it. The problem is that it opens the web browser instead of a program that is registered with the file ( like .pls links to Winamp or Mediaplayer ) and that is my problem atm.
Hmm. But hey, that brings me to another idea. What if i give the configs.pck a link to a file instead of links to the net. Like FMOD.exe -playstream:"http://blabla" ... I'll test :D:

Works just fine. So you can simply start an external program with parameters. Doesnt need to be an audio player btw. I tried with calc.exe which is the calculator of windows and it worked well. I clicked the "radio" link in PW and it opens the calculator. That means if i just write a small program that runs in background and opens a stream with options like i said above, all i have to do is check if elementclient.exe is active. When elementclient.exe closes it closes itself too. And thats mah mission for tonight :):

Yes it requires a programme to run it and as i see on your other post you've sorted it, most streaming sites use these kind of methods so i would have assumed people would know this sorry for my ignorance.

Nah dont worry. I always thought it uses an internal player. But it seems as the programmers of PW were too lazy to just import a simple player dll ... So they have to say sorry :sneaky2:
