My dad's beat it on the Pc and my little brother's beat it on the X-box. :)
There you go again with the "my dad" stuff. I got the game and I got the expansion both for pc, its a great game. And I cant believe Valve was not sued by the original developer of Doom. Absolutely everything was a modded and skinned version of Doom 3. Even the story almost exactly the same. Valve is a greedy group of programmers that try to steal ideas from other companies for themselves and make a profit off of it. Doom will always be better then Half-Life, because it is the original first person classic shooter. The first and second Doom were terrific, perfect games at the time. Wanted to try the 3rd one, and it is worth exactly what the reviews for it state. I play it at UltraHIGH with the maximum resolution and the speakers set to their fullest, this game will give you a heart attack.
Umm... Old School Half-Life pwns all tbh. There isn't a better story out there for FPS. Doom never came close and will never come close.

What are you talking about? Without Doom being made Half-Life would not be around today. Valve's greedy producers copied the story exactly from Doom. In Doom, the people turn into evil spirits. In Half-Life everyone turns into Aliens. Half-Life is an extremely bad skinned version of Doom. Doom is the original and was out way, way before Half-Life was even thought of being mass produced. So if you think Doom is bad, the story for Half-Life was based off of it. After I played Half-Life for the first time, it made me want to stop playing 1st person shooters. Get your facts right.

I know loads of ppl say things like "if doom wasnt made neither would half life" but that does not change the fact that HL is far superior, and much better to play then any of the original dooms. If you would rather sit in front of doom and play it over half life fair enough, but I bet 90% of people would rather play HL or another modern shooter. And dont even get me started on space invaders lol....
And about Doom3 and HL2, there both totally different games :eh: ok both fps, but they run on dif engines, and I think graphically are both also very different. The HL2 world is far more interactive and alive then Doom3. I think there both amazing games, just dont like the fact you say valve are rips off. They created a really good game, give them some credit.

Well without doom there wouldn't be a quake and quake was both the insparation behind hl and the engine they used.
because hl its running on a modded quake engine doesnt mean the story is the same u big moo
Yup, Quake was a great game. I have all the mods for the original, and I have Quake II (which wasn't so good) and Quake III Team Arena. Quake 4 is coming out soon, they keep changing the release dates. I'm sure more people like Half-Life over Doom, but thats their own choice. Doom was the original, and in my point of view, it has been the best and best there will be.
playing doom3 and hl2 were totally different experiances for me
now quake owns, there is a good game

You should really try AA (America's Army) it's a pretty damn good game. As for the dispute on hand most are pretty good and played em all only a few times but yes Doom 3 is a awesome combination of engines and the story line is still good and with the sound on it still scares the shit outta me! :thumbup:Quote:
