OLD though, both of em.

HoN is a direct copy of DoTA with a reskin. League of Legends takes the genre and implements a lot more and is updated consistently.

Nice referral link. Also, it's not made by the "creators of DotA", it is made by the guys who owned the website. Other than having administrative responsibilities and testing the maps, they had nothing to do with the creation of it.

IceFrog who actually makes the DotA maps worked to create HoN, and he is currently working with Valve to create an actual stand-alone DotA game.
