looking for host for PW server

Hi, I am Aurora, one of the GMs that have been in the devolpement of this server from the start. We are planning on releasing a server with all instances, newest cashshop, daily and monthly events,Friendly active GMs. the name of this server would be Pure Reality Perfect World or for short PRPW. Now this is our problem: we had a host but his pc broke down. not from our server but from age. So now we are looking for someone with a good PC with atleast 6GB-10GB RAM and a veeeery good connection to host the server. We have all been working long and hard, very long nights and days and barely any sleep to get the server up. Unfortunately, couple days before the beta launch, our host his pc said byebye to us. So yeah, a lil bad luck. With posting this I hope we get a host soon so our hard work and lack of sleep wont be for nothing. We have a lot of players already being jumpy about wanting to play. So we certenly wont start off with no players.


Hoping for a good and possitive reply and a soon new host

1 & 1 hosting is pretty cheap and rather reliable Ive got a few dedicated machines running on them

Slicehost is veryyyyyyy good for super cheap VPS's

New York Internet is a decent place if you already have a box and want to co-lo it, I also have a few systems set up as Co-Lo for clients of mine, they do also offer very nice dedicated server deals

Voxel also based in NY only have one client on them but they are very reliable imo

There are probably a bunch of others but those are the companies I usually stick with and have decent pricing and high reliability

Edit: Forgot to mention Amazon EC2 they bill you for exactly what you use and have the ability to be the most powerful but cost can get pretty high...

No one is going to give you an entire dedicated machine with a decent internet line for free. Thats so damn funny you think someone would do that...

6GB-10GB RAM for all instance? :O: i think you need 16gb or 32gb of ram for all instance :lol: great host is on your country. sure local connection is better :$:

We arent really looking for "renting" a server. and yes 6-10 GB is what our devolpers said. we are looking for a private host with a pc wich can handle it.

So you want someone to give you a machine powerful enough to run pw with all instances at once, for free? What in the hell are you smoking?

IF you already have the server box, look for local co-lo hosts, IF you don't already have server box, get a dedicated one from almost any provider

The best you'll ever get in terms of free hosting is free shared hosting which is highly highly limited in what you can do and not always on a reliable host, but it is "free"

hmm I do agree that it doesn't really fit here but I have no idea where it would go.

Ill leave it open for a few days in case they feel like responding. If there is no response then Ill close it because they already have a decent enough answer from das.

btw someone said you need ~12 or more GB of RAM for all instances. I enabled all of them an it uses 6,5 GB when nobody is in. rising up to ~7,5 when partys are running thru them.

I want to talk to those developers and ask some questions. Hmm looks like im a developer too. I changed files for mah Patcher from .7z to .NFG so i developed the NFG File Format :D: :lol: :D: :lol:
I also read the tuts and done what they said. Im a Developer :D: :lol:

For Threadstarter: Changing variables dont make sum1 a developer :wink:

Uhm Vixio ? We were ~ 40 Players in fire cave and it still was at 7,5 GB RAM usage while all maps are started. I think it depends on the Serverfiles
