[Easy-Tut] Creating an NPC

Requirements :
-Gunz Client [Urs of course!]
-MRS Decompiler [Creative's Release]
-ELU Viewer [x1nixmzeng's Release]
-Hex Workshop [google it]

OK, the first thing to do before you create an npc is open up your Gunz folder.

Look! I've opened mine!
Now lets open up our Model folder

now you'll see man.mrs , woman.mrs and NPC folder.
Unpack either man.mrs or woman.mrs.
For my choice I'm gonna unpack Woman.mrs!

now that we have unpacked it, open it. You'll see a whole bunch of files.

Well, what are these ???
These files are woman clothes and armors. These contains the models and animations too!
Now let's start deciding on a model!
Scroll all the way to the bottom. You'll see files with the word "parts". That means you are at the correct place !

Now open the ELU Viewer.
Drag ANY of the file with the word "parts" to the ELU window.
Now you have the view of the model.
See other "parts" files too. Pick the one you like the most.

I picked the assassin set.

Now right click the file. Choose Hex Edit with Hex Workshop.

You will see some texts with dots.
Look through it [scroll down].
Copy the pic files that you see and the "parts" file into a new folder and name it your npc.

Now you have your NPC Model.

Now adding animations.

In your woman/man folder, scroll up abit to see some animations like : sword_standshot or something like that.

Nice , Now I can make custom quests with maybe some of the new sets.

I was expecting a tut on how to re-rig custom NPCs :(

Part 2!
These animations could be used for the NPC's attack, cast, run, or maybe neglect.

Unpack one of the existing NPC file. E.g Goblin.

Copy the goblin.xml and paste it into your npc folder.

Edit it.

You'll have to edit the goblin into woman/man. The easy way is, press Ctrl+H. In Find what, put in goblin. then in Replace with, put in woman/man. Click Replace All

Now its even easier to change. You would see that there is something with the elu right at the top.

Change it to your model name. e.g. woman-parts_assassin.elu

Get the animation files you need that is shown in the goblin/urnpc.xml . Change the name into the one in the xml.

Now make sure you have ALL the animations that is needed.

Test it out. I'm sure you know how to add NPCs.

If everything works FINE, then CONGRATZ! If not, you must have missed out something or did something wrong.

Yes we do. People out there trying to figure out how to make custom NPCs. This here, is a little detailed. For them to know.
