Aokigahara Forest - One Of The Creepiest Places On Earth

Aokigahara is a woodland at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan.
Also called the Sea of Trees.
It is the most popular place to commit suicide in the whole Japan.
More than 500 people have taken their own lives in Aokigahara since the 1950s.
For, example 78 bodies were found there in 2002.
The trend has supposedly started after Seicho Matsumoto published his novel Kuroi Kaiju (Black Sea of Trees) where two of his characters commit suicide there.
But already in the 19th century poor farmers went to this forest to commit suicide, because they thought their children would have more food to eat then.
Every week police makes a raid in the forest looking for new bodies.

One of the craziest things I read regarding this place is that the Japanese are so superstitious that they only come to remove the bodies once a year!

Dam crazy japanese is really crazy. Whats the whole point of killing yourself. Thats just wasting your life.

Wow. If I were a Japanese, I would cut those trees down and open something new ;D

I wonder if it's legal to open a "specific" place to commit suicide. LOL. Like a barn with ropes ready, a knife in another corner, a gun in another, etc.

Well in Sweden you can be euthanized but under certain circumstances.

It's all real, it is in fact the 2nd most popular place in the world for people to commit suicide at. Had a friend visit it while he was in Japan, freaked him the hell out.

Aint no fooling SiGGy is there.

Wouldn't like to go through there alone or at night lol
