First Download The Following Files :

How to Set up The Server >

The First Chapter

1. Install Loopback - Click Me
2. Find Out Whats You're IP : Click Me
3. Configure you're Loopback with the Following IP :

1st Box(Global IP) : [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
2nd Box : [255.0.0.0]
3rd Box(Global IP) : [xxx.xxx.xxx.1]
_
4th Box(Global IP) : [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
5th Box : None

Then Press Ok


The Second Chapter

Install MS SQL 2000

Then Follow My Video Guide

The Third Chapter

Configure with Global IP In the Following

PS . Ignore/Delete CS Folder in MUserver

MuServer\ConnectServer\Data\BoR_ServerList.dat
MuServer\Data\MapServerInfo and MapServerInfoCS.dat
MuServer\StartUp.ini

Configure SQL Password in

MuServer\GameServer and GameServerCS\SCF_Connect.ini
MuServer\Event\Data\SvConfig.ini
MUServer\ExDB\ExDB.ini
MUServer\Ranking\SvConfig.ini
MUServer\SCFDB\SCFDB.ini

The Fourth Chapter

1. Extract Client
2. Open Main Cracker
3. Open The Main.exe

Put Following and Save :

just want to ask whats the use of this 2 ports (55814 and 55816):mellow:

They are Game Server and Game Server CS Ports.. Just add them to make sure they run for other people xD.

the ports use for GS is 55901 and GSCS is 55919

just wondering where did u get that 2 ports :mellow:

actually i have no idea where i got these but dont attack me any way possible :P. ill edit and add that other port ;). ( its not like port forward have limits ;D )

just put 44405, 55901 and 55919 in ports to be open for the server

and remove the 2 ports (55814 and 55816) :8:

yes but i already using static ip on my server so i think i don't need to setup this, also i don't use router on my server. i can successfully run season 2 server and this is my first time to setup season 4. i also notice that whenever im running gs and gs_CS it disappear immidiately. Thanks ^_^

join server i keep getting this error: Connect Server IP Not Found
Usage: JoinServer.exe /p1111 /ca127.0.0.1 /cp1111
/p:JoinserverPort /ca: ConnectServer IP /cp: ConnectServer Port

ive tryed edit the startup.ini with wanip - local ip and global ip
at the line v6v=/p55970 /127.0.0.1 /cp55557

but nothing seems to help
any one got an idea to what im doin wrong ?

then open data/serverlist

Very good guid, the sv runs ok, but still have some question's.

socket sistem is working? because when i make an item with mu maker it dosn't implement soket in item. in mu maker shows that is implementing but when I enter game the items don't have soket? am i using a bad mumaker or soket system dosn't work?

Check out SCFDB Folder.. their should be a socket .ini their, i havent hosted mu for a while well you can add items u want to add sockets.

the chat should run normally itself and without errors.

anyways try running the muserverstartup then close chat and run it manually as admin.

hm about ur main problem is nothing to be afraid.
u should just ignore or find glow.gld and put on ur \client\data\ and \client\

Agreed with Karli on your Main.exe problem. DL glow.gld :thumbup:

On your Mu ChatServer Fail, I think you should look on your startup.ini

I also had that problem with Exdb and Chat server fail but try following instructions below:

1.Find (Ctrl+f) parameters
2.look for v7v
3.Check if you changed it to your global IP

Sir I'm having this bit of a problem. Whenever I try to duel someone it always says "the name of the character you have challenged is incorrect". Someone helped from the thread I made and said the duel system from my server does not match with the client's. I tried to DL other Clients but it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me sir?

Look for "parameters" then v1v=youriphere

If this didn't worked...

Did you restore Data Base of Event? I also got that error at first but fixing the DB wouldn't be that much of a problem. If you have restored DB try this procedure below:

1. Open Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Data Sources (ODBC)
2. System DSN
3. Choose MU_2003_EVENT_DB (or the name of your event database) then double-click
4. Make sure Server is correct then Next
5. With windows NT authentication
6. Change the default database to: MU_2003_EVENT_DB (or the name of your event database) Then next... next...
7. TEST YOUR DATA SOURCE if its successful then click OK

Finished. This worked fine on my server. Hope this also worked for you.

To default, there's an arrow there. Just look for your event database. Step 6 Above.

First account created successfully
Created Character on first account
Correct shortcut links in Start Server folder
#1 Loads fine
#2 Loads fine (all access allowed)
All links in MU Server Start UP v1.2.8 show ready
#3 "This application has been registered to poseidon2 - poseidon24" screen pops up. No

other screen show up, only option on the poseidon notification was [OK]
#4 Started, no screen shows up

Start client, error. Loader time out, unable to load Glow. Client loads, click on [Server],

click on the Server it shows - disconnected.

Added glow.gld to client data folder.

Restarted client. [Server] [Server S4 v.105 Connect] and get disconnected.

Set LoopbackAdaptor TCP/IPv4 Properties to 'User Configured'
 IP Address: www.whatismyip.com
 Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0
 Default gateway: www.whatismyip.com
 Preferred left empty
 Alternate left empty

When I click OK, then repoen it to see if it's still there the only fields with IPs in them are IP Address and Subnet mask. Default gateway is now blank. Tried it anyways.

Still disconnected. I don't know what else to trouble shoot. MU Start up is working, MSQL is working - what am I missing?

Port 55816 was missing from the list of opened ports, added it. Now 44405, 55901, 55919 and 55816.

Client still disconnects. What am I missing? I've gone over this twice now and can't seem to find the fatal flaw. I've had situations like this before and it was an easy fix, but I don't recall what that fix was. Can anyone help/advise?

You followed it really well. One question: Did you performed restore database on Event or did it failed?

I agree with sir Karli and Tutero69. I don't know why but I think the name of your database should be the same as in your DB folder just as what Tutero69 said.

example:
DB folder >> MuOnline
Database created in Enterprise >> MuOnline

DB folder >> MU_2003_EVENT_DB
Database created in Enterprise >> MU_2003_EVENT_DB

*note: They should have the same name

When I watched your vid on 0:20 I saw the name event. Well in my Server database I have a database Event and another one named MU_2003_EVENT_DB. They have different purposes. I think you didn't managed to restore the database correctly sir.

It's just an example. Your files may contain a different Event database name.

1. Check first your DB folder to know the DB name.
2. Open Enterprise manager>ServerGroup>Local>Databases
3. Right-click and make New Database.
4. Input the name of your Event database

voila!! Restore your event database.

1. Did you open gameserver and gameserverCS before starting the game?
2. Did you change the ip of your main.exe to your ip?

Did you input your IP then save?

There are so many reasons for disconnection, but the most common reason would be IP problems. Please make sure you have input the correct IP. Start GS and GS CS before running main.exe

Hah hah, stupid mistake. I restarted the start up and neglected to ensure GS was up and running. I can now connect on the host as well as other computers on my network. Great guide, A+. :)

The only thing that I can't get running is Kantru. I'm not so much worried about the event, I'd simply like to populate the map with mobs for hunting.

Turns out to be some inconsistencies with the .bmd client file and server /warp commands. Kantru, Swamp of Calmness and Raklion are included, still unsure about land of trials, will continue comparisons. Figured I'd post this here since there will certainly be a newbie with similar issues like myself. :)



Found LoT, used a GM character to check map 31. It's there, just have to find the gate number to add it to my /warp.

I can use a GM character to move to all the maps and see they are indeed on the sever, GS and CS servers are up and running, and each map is populated with monsters. But I can't figure out how to get the /warp commands to work there either by typing them out, using the /m command, or use the move menu.

I have all the maps, I have all the mobs, everything is just the way it should be. But I can't access nearly half the maps now and I don't know what I've done wrong. I've done each thing one step at a time and tested it, just now it won't work.

I've tried multiple editors, going through the text files by hand - I'm so frustrated and I can't think of what I've done wrong. I've looked at various threads on the forum on how to edit gate and move files but it's so far beyond my level I don't know which way is up.

I've kept the original files listed here on this thread and they worked as is, so they are not the problem. I'm restarting from scratch, but what might I have done to create this problem?

All I'm interested in doing is having the following maps /warp able, in a move menu, filled with monsters that my family and friends can hunt as stated below;

I'm not worried about the levels you can be to walk there, say from Lorencia into Devias or into the Dungeon, or Devias into Lost Tower. I know I have to hex code some levels for the bmd files if the move lvl requirement is over 255, but I can't get it to work right. I've done so many server to client comparisons between text and bmd files that it feels like my skull has been crushed in.

I'm not asking someone to do this for me, just point me in the right direction. Am I doing something blatantly wrong? I know gates are hardcoded into the GS, does that include the level requirements to use the move menu? If so, I dont need those changed. I know I can /warp *town* at lvl 10 but can't click on the move menu until level 20. I don't care. I just want a working move menu that does what I'm trying to get it to do. :grr:

/Updated/ I have fixed the mapping problem, I restored some files to the originals and it's working again. However;

While I can /warp Raklion and Swampofcalmness how do I add them to my 'M' menu without throwing my server back into chaos? I've had this issue before in the past, and I don't recall how I fixed it. Isn't there a limit to how much the 'M' menu can hold?

Successfully added Raklion, Swamp Of Calmness, and fixed a bug with Kantru and some other maps in the 'M' menu - turns out it was all client side errors/information missing. When you edit the BMD file it's Kantru, not Kanturu, and just add Raklion with gate 287 and SwampOfCalmness with gate 273.

I also had this issue. Just start GS CS and it will work. :) hahaha! I agree the editing can be hard because I also did that on Kanturu with this server files. I suggest you either change server side or client side. It is incompatible.

Wasn't a huge issue, they were included on the server side and just had to be recoded in the client BMDs to work with the 'M' commands. So far everything has been 100% compatible with the server and client files provided, just took a little elbow grease and a few new bald patches from frustration. :)

The only maps I haven't included on my 'M' is Santas Village (since I have other plans for that) and Land of Trials. Land of Trials... is proving to be a bit more difficult to get a proper warp.

Lol you guys add GM in SCF_GMsystem.ini in Gameserver folder.
About the non working maps you need to edit the gates. its client sided ;)

how many player can join my server?
my connection is only 8mb

One thing I've noticed since I started using these files is that the GS_CS doesn't load more then half the time. I have to try and run it at least 4 times before it will get going. "Can't Create Process". Is this happening to many others?

It has been my dream to make a mu server xD, iv done everything but when i join the game i get disconnected straite away

Check the connect server IP's and MapServerInfo And Dont put the IP's at 127.0.0.1 at default or you will get many problems.
