[Question] Best DSLR camera for a newbie?
Well, I don't know much about photography, and what makes a camera good, etc. But I am interested in getting a DSLR camera, as I love photography, and would like to shoot good quality pictures for a hobby.
However, my problem is that I don't know what to look for, or what would be best for me. Therefore I assumed someone here could assist me as some of you guys are very good at photography, and have experience.
So, what DSLR camera would you recommend for someone who wants to get into photography, and is a newbie at it? :8:

Nikon D3100 Digital SLR Camera 2-Lens Outfit(18-55 AF DX & 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6G ED) - 25472-2156-9793 - RitzCamera.com
Nikon D3100. got my girl one 2 years ago, got myself a D9000 earlier this year when I got lucky and won a few hundred on the lotto. combined that with some savings and tax return =p.
But if you're still noobie try only spending a couple hundred on a NON DSLR and just get a high resolution digital camera. To make sure you really enjoy it.
Re: [Question] Best DSLR camera for a newbie?
I would actually try finding a Nikon D40 or D60 somewhere used. Those are amazing cameras for beginners.
Re: [Question] Best DSLR camera for a newbie?
Get the Canon 40D Kit. It's an intermediate level camera and gives out awesome results. Also the Canon Rebel series are amazing. Get it. Worth it.
I am a Canon user so I am suggesting Canon but technically there is no difference between Nikon and Canon. It's just that the camera you buy first is important because in the futre, all your lenses will be for that brand.

I got a Nikon P90. If my opinion matters ahehe.
Insane is the photographer here so I suggest you go with what he says :).

just curious as to why you recommend the 40D over what I posted, they're fairly similar imho but I do prefer the nikon.

Nothing specific like I said. Canon and Nikon are exactly the same. It's just user preference. That's all. In the end, it's the photographer that matters and not the camera. He could go for any of them but I would suggest Canon as they have a better customer value. But that is once again my personal choice. It really does not make a difference.
The special reason I asked him to get 40D or the Rebel Series is because they are probably the only stable intermediate level cameras that Canon produced in a really long time. Camera's that are really worth having.
